Michael Vick: 10 Conspiracy Theories on Where He Was During Eagles Game

Tom KinslowOct 18, 2010

Yesterday, Michael Vick was the third quarterback for yesterday's game against Atlanta, but Vick was not on the sidelines and never came out of the locker room for the game.

Andy Reid was evidently fine with this and endorsed it but it's cause a minor stir as to what he might have been doing with his time back there. With that in mind, we decided to take a humorous look at it and concocted 10 conspiracy theories where Vick was during yesterday's game.

No. 10: Fuming at Being the Third QB

It was clear that Michael Vick wanted to be the starter for Sunday's game against his old team. He set his own timetable long enough for him to come back and reportedly tried to lobby his coach on Saturday to try and start.

It was a big game for Vick and I'm sure he wasn't happy being the third quarterback. I could see Vick spending his time in the locker room saying what he really felt about Andy Reid's decision making.

No. 9: Buying Phillies Tickets

With the Phillies in the NLCS and playing later that day, maybe Michael Vick decided that his time would be better spent if he was at Game 2 of the series against the San Francisco Giants.

Vick's an athlete, he's got connections, maybe he picked up the phone and tried to hunt down some tickets to a big playoff game and watch the Phillies even the series against the Giants at one win a piece.

It beats being the third guy on the depth chart.

No. 8: Watching Lost on DVD

While in prison, Michael Vick missed a lot of things happening in America, one of them was the television phenomena that was Lost.

Maybe Vick recently picked up the DVD's and just couldn't pull himself away from the adventures of Jack, Kate, Sawyer and company. He wanted to figure out if they ever got back to the island and how they ever got off in the first place.

I wouldn't blame him if that were the case.

No. 7: Prepping Andy Reid's Post Game Snack Bar

Andy Reid is a man who has a healthy appetite and coaching a football team for a three hours is an exhausting job.

Since Vick wasn't going to be needed on the field, maybe Reid sent his quarterback out into the city to prep his postgame meal. Sure he got funny looks buying four Big Mac's but orders are orders.

No. 6: Making a Kevin Kolb Voodoo Doll

With Kevin Kolb playing well in Vick's absence, there's been talks of yet another quarterback controversy in Philadelphia.

After Vick fought so hard to get back to a position of prominence, there's no way he's going to let Kolb take that away from him. Maybe he spent his time constructing a voodoo doll of the quarterback to try and keep him from taking his spot.

It's clearly a work in progress.

No. 5: Investigating Brett Favre

6 of 10
MINNEAPOLIS - OCTOBER 17: Quarterback Brett Favre #4 of the Minnesota Vikings drops back to pass during the fourth quarter against the Dallas Cowboys at Mall of America Field on October 17, 2010 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Vikings defeated the Cowboys

With plenty of controversy surrounding Brett Favre and the allegations that he sent inappropriate text messages to Jenn Sterger maybe Michael Vick figured he'd get to the bottom of the situation himself.

If Favre became the most hated man in the NFL, maybe some of the heat would die down around him and his past mistakes. If he could prove that Favre did what he's accused of but not only did it wearing Crocs, that would be enough for me.

No. 4: Catching "The Social Network"

The Social Network, the movie about the founding of the website Facebook has turned into a national phenomena and since he was so out of the loop during his legal troubles, Vick just had to get out to the theater to see what everyone was talking about.

I hope he enjoyed the film as most of America did.

No. 3: Watching NFL Red Zone Channel

With Vick being slated to spend most of his time on the sidelines, maybe he decided he wanted some enjoyment and turned on the NFL Red Zone channel to try and get caught up to date on all that was going on in the league during their game against Atlanta.

After all, someone has to watch that channel.

No. 2: Checking His Fantasy Football Team

JACKSONVILLE, FL - SEPTEMBER 26: Quarterback Michael Vick #7 of the Philadelphia Eagles throws a pass while under pressure against the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Field on September 26, 2010 in Jacksonville, Florida. The Eagles defeated the Jaguars

Michael Vick was one of the most electric and popular fantasy football athletes of all time and fantasy football makes the Sunday experience that much better.

Maybe he had a big matchup this week and just had to keep an eye on it from the comfort of the locker room. There were lineup changes to be made right before kickoff and he wanted to make sure they worked out for him and his team.

No. 1: Playing Madden

As a former cover athlete and a young man in general, who can resist the lure of Madden?

Everyone loves picking up the sticks and playing people all around the world on the virtual gridiron. Perhaps Vick is in an online franchise and just had to get his game in before the league advanced to the next week.

Madden, it's serious business.
