NFL Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Advice: Who To Pick Up in Week 7
With fantasy football season reaching it’s halfway point, owners may find themselves in need of a roster makeover, due to injuries, bye weeks or poor play. Whatever the case, it may be a little late for a complete re-shuffling of your roster, however, a shrewd pickup or two to help get through a tough stretch can make a huge difference.
With that in mind, here are our recommendations for Week 7 Waiver Wire “Pick Them Ups.”

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Cassel had his second three-touchdown game of the season in Week 6 against the Houston Texans, as he also completed 20 of 29 passes for 201 yards. The Chiefs are likely to continue to focus on pounding the football behind running backs Jamal Charles and Thomas Jones, however, their upcoming schedule (Jacksonville Jaguars, Buffalo Bills) is favorable for Cassel to find some success through the air.
Cassel is worth considering as a potential bye week fill-in for the next two weeks and he should be available in the majority of leagues.
Deion Branch (New England Patriots)
Branch had an excellent game in his return to New England in Week 6, as he had nine catches (on 12 targets) for 98 yards and a touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens. He appears to still be an excellent fit in the Patriots’ offense and was able to quickly re-discover some chemistry with quarterback Tom Brady immediately.
Many fantasy football owners may have forgotten about him after his disappointing tenure with the Seattle Seahawks, which likely led to him going undrafted in most leagues and should make him available in many leagues (29-percent ownership in Yahoo! leagues). If you are one that has been hurt by injuries at the wide receiver position take a look at Branch, as he looked like the real deal in his return in the Patriots.
Danny Woodhead (New England Patriots)
Woodhead had 11 carries for 63 yards against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6, along with five receptions for 52 yards in the game. He definitely seems to have a growing role in the Patriots’ backfield, as he had nine total touches in their Week 4 game against the Miami Dolphins. BenJarvus Green-Ellis is still in the mix, but he had 10 touches to Woodhead’s 16 last week.
Woodhead’s fantasy football value is enhanced by the fact he is also as a wide receiver in most (if not all) leagues. If you find yourself in need of a bye week replacement over the next few weeks, or a player you want to stash on your bench, this overachiever does not appear to be going away.
