Giants Fans Happy To Host The Detroit Lions

Hope their health insurance is paid up. 

     The New York Giants are a 10 point favorite to beat The Lions at the New Meadowlands, and the forecast for that day is sunshine, lollypops and rainbows...cue the song!

and I hate to be the cranky old guy who ruins everyone's sunshiny day but there's just a couple of little tiny things a Giants fan should be aware of.

It's just a little tiny thing but, the Detroit Lions have the #1 scoring offense in the NFC, and I know that those points were scored against the healthy versions of Green Bay, Chicago, Philadelphia and Minnesota. It's just a little thing and I'm sure it's a coincidence that those teams all lost players to injuries the next week. Now I could be wrong, the Detroit Lion defensive line has been spending a lot of time in the backfield.

     Maybe it's that terrible Detroit pass blocking I've been hearing so much about? 9 sacks in 5 games...same as the Giants offense, guess I'm just a sensitive guy. 

     Maybe it's the porous defensive backfield that so much ado has been made of?

10th in total yard allowed...agreed. Tied for 5th in passes intercepted. 2nd in the NFC in forced fumbles, oh yes, these guys are terrible.

     Now this is going to sound crazy, but it sounds like these guys are playing guud, gdud, sorry it's just been a while since I've used these two words together in a sentence; good defense. The Detroit Lions are playing good defense.. That does not bode well for a 10 point spread. Well, rest assured Giants fans I'm sure the Detroit special teams are as bad as advertised.

Return yards per punt...6.8 yards, blocked punts ...0, 7th in return yards, 17th in average punt return yards..hey wait a minute.

These guys sound like a good team. They can pass, they can defend, they can play special teams, they can score. The big question for New York Giants and Detroit Lion fans will be can they win?
