Ohio State Football 2010: OSU To Defeat Wisconsin in Madison

Kelsey GivensOct 14, 2010

On Saturday, the Ohio State Buckeyes will travel up north to take on the University of Wisconsin. Many predict that this will be one of the hardest games for the Buckeyes this season.

However, they have a good chance of winning if they really come all out and focus on making as few mistakes as possible.

The beginning of the season was rough for OSU. They have had trouble with special teams and trouble making consistently good passes.

Even with this rough start, OSU has shown the potential to do well this season if they can focus on the task at hand. This focus could be the key to the success of the Buckeyes in Madison this weekend.

Like OSU, Wisconsin is an excellent team, especially when they are playing at home on their own turf. OSU doesn’t do too badly on the road, but their winning percentages on the road are definitely less than those at home. This could put OSU at a slight disadvantage, especially if they don’t play up to their potential.

In terms of offense, both teams have very talented quarterbacks. However, Terrelle Pryor could help push the Buckeyes forward in this game if he can make consistent good passes and connect with his offensive members.

If Pryor can connect and throw passes deep and right to the rest of the OSU offense, like he has shown he can do, OSU will be able to easily score on the Wisconsin defense. However, if he can’t make good passes or tries to run when he should have thrown, which he has also done this season, the Buckeyes will have a hard time making their way down the field to score.

Another key element to the Buckeye offense will be Jordan Hall. Last Saturday, he had some amazing runs and showed his ability to really pound through a defense. With his help, the Buckeyes will be able to gain yardage and advance against the strong Wisconsin defense.

Defensively, if OSU can keep the Wisconsin offense from gaining to many yards, they will be in good shape to keep Wisconsin’s points low for this game.

The Buckeyes will need to make good tackles, like many of the ones they made last Saturday against Indiana, and they will need to be able to stick close to those that they are defending. By really focusing on these two elements, OSU will be able to make this game a lot easier on themselves.

Overall, this should be an interesting game to watch. Of all the Big Ten teams to play one another, these are two that are well matched. As long as OSU can step up to the plate and really play at the level they have shown that they can play at, this should result in another OSU victory.
