NFL Week 6 Picks: Predicting the Biggest Upsets of The Week
It's that time of the week again where I pick 5 upsets. Let me remind every reader that I don't look at or use the Vegas spread. I do it the old school way. I watch football, and try and make an educated guess on who the better team is.
This week is very tough, and there aren't many major upsets that I see happening, but I do see the better team losing in five match ups this week.
Last week I went 2-3 with my picks, making my record a whopping 16-9. I expect that number to start approaching .500, unless I really have super natural powers.
Let's take a look a five games that will end with the better team losing.
Jacksonville Jaguars Beat the Tennessee Titans
1 of 6
The Titans looked good against the Oakland Raiders, New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys, but they didn't look so great against the Pittsburgh Steelers or Denver Broncos.
The Jaguars haven't looked too bad either and this is the week they shock the world.
It's Monday Night and it feels so right. Look for Maurice Jones-Drew to have a big night against the Titans defense.
Chris Johnson will get over 100 yards, but it won't be enough to beat the Jags.
The game ends when Josh Scobee hits the game winner from 74 yards for the win . . . 20-17
Miami Dolphins Over the Green Bay Packers
2 of 6
The easy pick in this game would be the Packers, but I'm not sure the Packers are healthy enough to beat a pissed off Dolphins team that is coming off a bye week.
Aaron Rodgers suffered a concussion last week, and that is one of the many injuries the Packers have faced this year.
The Dolphins are coming off an embarrassing Monday Night Football loss to the New England Patriots and are looking to upset another NFC North team at home.
Look for Brandon Marshall and Chad Henne to have big games against the Packers. Also, the Wildcat will get the best of the Packers defense.
Dolphins win with a late defensive stop, 23-20.
St. Louis Rams Over the San Diego Chargers
3 of 6
The Chargers are coming off a tough loss to the Oakland Raiders and now head to St. Louis to play the Rams. Most people would give the Rams no chance to win this game. I, on the other hand, give the Rams a 5% chance to win this, and that 5% will prevail.
The Chargers have been terrible away from home this season. They have lost to the Seattle Seahawks, Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs, all of whom picked in the top ten in last year's draft.
The Rams were the first pick in the draft last year, and they will continue the pattern of bad losses for the Chargers.
With a heavy dose of Stephen Jackson, the Rams should control the line of scrimmage.
Look for the Rams to pull off an upset when Rivers fumbles late in the game again, and the Rams return it for a touchdown. Rams win 27-23
Denver Broncos Over the New York Jets
4 of 6
Kyle Orton may not be the most popular quarterback in Denver, but he is producing some pretty impressive numbers.
Mark Sanchez is also producing impressive numbers, himself. The Jets have been playing great to start the season, but I see that ending in Denver.
This will be a great game and both quarterbacks will be in the spotlight.
Look for Sanchez to make his first mistakes of the year, when he faces the Broncos secondary.
The Broncos won't be running much, and will get enough help from their defense and special teams to overcome the Jets at home.
Broncos win with an Elway like final drive to beat the Jets, 24-17.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Over the New Orleans Saints
5 of 6
Is the Madden Curse affecting Drew Brees and the Saints? How about the surprising start of the Buccaneers? Their start is very surprising, but they are still average.
They take care of the bad teams, but they get beat down by the very good teams. When they play another average team, they play them close and pull out the win.
Right now, the Saints look more average than good. They have won their three games by a combined total of 10 points. Their opponents that they have beaten have a combined record of 1-14.
In other words, they are barely beating very bad teams.
This week they play a very average team that has a very good record. Look for the Bucs to pull out another close win against the Saints.
Bucs win 30-27 when Josh Freeman shows that his team is anything but average.
Upset Challenge Winner of the Week

Congrats to Vic L for picking three out of five correct last week! Here is his comment with his picks included.
Hey Tre, love this series, but u would have a better record if u stop picking our beloved Raiders everyweek.
Man didnt the Bears-Giants game remind u of a Raiders game during the Jamarcus Era, lol. That was horrible Oaklands O-line might have some Competition for worst in the league.
Heres my picks:
Denver over Ravens
KC over Indy
Raiders over Chargers (I cant follow my own advice)
Tampa Bay over Cincy
Washington over Green Bay
*not sure if all these winners are underdogs, but they should be.
Remember to pick five games where you think the better team will lose and you can be next week's Vic L!
