NFL Picks Week 6: Predictions for Every Game, Will the 49ers Beat the Raiders?
Here are my picks for all 16 games for Week 4 of the 2010 NFL season.
You'll see some interesting selections, including my thoughts on whether the San Francisco 49ers can beat the Oakland Raiders in the Battle of the Bay.
Moreover, who will the Cowboys be able to turn their season around against the struggling Vikings? Will the Buccaneers truly prove their greatness with a win over the defending Super Bowl champions?
Find out my predictions on that, and much more.
Last Week: 6-8
Cumulative Season Record: 37-39
Miami Dolphins (2-2) @. Green Bay Packers (3-2)
1 of 14
Winner: Green Bay Packers
Both teams have slipped lately, and will be looking to rebound in this one.
Statistically speaking, the Packers are the better of the two and should stand victorious.
However, if quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn't play, that'll give the Dolphins a distinct advantage.
This game will be broadcasted at 1:00 P.M. EDT on CBS
San Diego Chargers (2-3) @ St. Louis Rams (2-3)
2 of 14
Winner: San Diego Chargers
The San Diego Chargers currently rank first in total yards on offense and second in total yards on defense, yet only have two wins to show for it.
Even though the Rams have been a pleasant surprise this season, I don't think they're ready to take on a team of the Chargers' caliber.
This game will be broadcasted at 1:00 P.M. EDT on CBS
Baltimore Ravens (4-1) @ New England Patriots (4-1)
3 of 14
Winner: Baltimore Ravens
Both are elite teams in my opinion, which could make this the most intriguing matchup of the week.
Either way, I expect it to be close.
Nonetheless, in the end, I see the Ravens' stifling defense to be too much for the Patriots to handle.
This game will be broadcasted at 1:00 P.M. EDT on CBS
Cleveland Browns (1-4) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1)
4 of 14
Winner: Pittsburgh Steelers
I don't think anyone imagined that the Steelers would start 3-1.
Now their franchise quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, returns from his four-game suspension.
Scary thought, right? The Browns better watch out, because they could get pummeled.
This game will be broadcasted at 1:00 P.M. EDT on CBS
Kansas City Chiefs (3-1) @ Houston Texans (3-2)
5 of 14
Winner: Houston Texans
The Kansas City Chiefs may have started 3-0 and played a gritty game against the Indianapolis Colts, but I think they'll simply be overmatched for
Expect Matt Schaub to have a phenomenal game against the Chiefs' 25th ranked pass defense, and for him to connect with star receiver Andre Johnson early and often.
This game will be broadcasted at 1:00 P.M. EDT on CBS
Detroit Lions (1-4) @ New York Giants (3-2)
6 of 14
Winner: New York Giants
Congratulations to the Detroit Lions on getting their first win on the season, but don't count on that continuing.
The New York Giants are looking more like the '07 version that won the Super Bowl as they currently rank 3rd in the NFL with 19 sacks.
This game will be broadcasted at 1:00 P.M. EDT on FOX.
Atlanta Falcons (4-1) @ Philadelphia Eagles (3-2)
7 of 14
Winner: Atlanta Falcons
This game could ultimately come down to whether or not Michael Vick plays and how well he performs.
If he does, they may have a chance to keep up with the Falcons' prolific offense.
If not, they could be in serious trouble.
This game will be broadcasted at 1:00 P.M. EDT on FOX
Seattle Seahawks (2-2) @ Chicago Bears (4-1)
8 of 14
Winner: Chicago Bears
The Seattle Seahawks have been dominated in both of their road games this year, and I don't expect that trend to change anytime soon; especially not against one of the premier teams in the NFL.
This game will be broadcasted at 1:00 P.M. EDT on FOX
New Orleans Saints (3-2) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1)
9 of 14
Winner: New Orleans Saints
Even though the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have managed to compile the better record, there's no denying that the New Orleans Saints are the superior team.
The Saints desperately need this if they want to stay in the playoff race. There's no way they can afford to lose three of their past four games.
This game will be broadcasted at 1:00 P.M. EDT on FOX
New York Jets (4-1) @ Denver Broncos (2-3)
10 of 14
Winner: New York Jets
Sure, the New York Jets 23rd ranked pass defense may be exposed to the Broncos second best aerial attack.
Nonetheless, I can't see how the Jets can lose this game as they're playing like the best team in football right now.
This game will be broadcasted at 4:05 P.M. EDT on CBS
Oakland Raiders (2-3) @ San Francisco 49ers (0-5)
11 of 14
Winner: San Francisco 49ers
Who will win the Battle of the Bay?
Could it be the team that's fresh off a victory over their division rivals or the one that's failed to meet any expectations and fallen to 0-5?
Putting all that aside, I'm going with the 49ers simply because I believe they're the more talented team.
They haven't found a way to close games so far, but I believe they will feel the pressure and do so this week.
This game will be broadcasted at 4:05 P.M. EDT on CBS
Dallas Cowboys (1-4) @ Minnesota Vikings (1-4)
12 of 14
Winner: Dallas Cowboys
I think this game will come down to who wants it more, and I believe that's the Cowboys.
Especially if Brett Favre's elbow continues to hinder him, I don't see how they can win.
This game will be broadcasted at 4:15 P.M. EDT on CBS
Indianapolis Colts (3-2) @ Washington Redskins (3-2)
13 of 14
Winner: Indianapolis Colts
Peyton Manning vs. 30th ranked pass defense.
Is this really a contest?
Moreover, there's no way the Colts fall to the Redskins on the national stage. They still need to redeem themselves after disappointing losses to the Texans and Jaguars.
This game will be broadcasted at 8:20 P.M. EDT on NBC.
Tennessee Titans (3-2) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2)
14 of 14
Winner: Tennessee Titans
Even though their records state otherwise, I believe that the Titans are the more skilled club and they're currently firing on all cylinders which will make them tough to contain.
Against the 30th ranked defense in terms of points allowed, I project Chris Johnson and Vince Young to tear it up all night long.
This game will be broadcasted at 8:30 P.M. EDT on ESPN
