Roger Federer and Tiger Woods' Manager Involved in Betting Scandal

Candice HareOct 13, 2010

IMG, one of the largest sports management companies in the world, is being sued by Agate Printing, Inc, who allegedly aided the owner of IMG, Theodore Forstmann, in his sports bets and provided him with escorts.

In the suit, Agate Printing claims that they made millions of dollars worth of bets for Forstmann and some of his losses were even covered on IMG accounts.

Several of Forstmann's bets involved his own clients, including Tiger Woods and Roger Federer

Forstmann allegedly bet against Tiger Woods at times when he would face Vijay Singh. Singh, who was also with IMG at the time, was described in the suit as a "so-called personal friend" of Forstmann.

Agate Printing also goes on to claim that Roger Federer allegedly gave Forstmann inside information regarding the 2006 French Open final. After Forstmann received Federer's information, he allegedly raised his bet from $10,000 to $40,000. Federer, of course, lost that match in four sets to Rafael Nadal.

According to TMZ, Agate Printing reportedly filed suit after they were forced by Forstmann to pay the tax liabilities on his gambling losses.

Forstmann's representative, Michael Sitrick, told TMZ that the lawsuit is "filled with specious lies" and he firmly believes that it will be dismissed.
