NFL Week 6 Predictions: Picks For Every Game
It's Week 6 in the NFL, and it's time to make picks and predictions for the coming week of NFL Football.
This is the week we find out if Kevin Kolb can win against a more quality opponent and if five weeks off has put any rust on Ben Roethlisberger's arm.
Last week was not a good week for me, because I didn't bet my gut on the Cowboys game and didn't anticipate the Raiders upsetting the Chargers. Still, overall the record is good and I'm sure Week 5 was an aberration.
So without further delay, here are my Week 6 picks.
Overall: 52-24
Last Week: 7-7
Week 1: 12-4 Week 2: 10-6 Week 3: 14-2 Week 4: 9-5 Week 5: 7-7
Browns Vs. Steelers
1 of 14
This is a rivalry game that has taken on a little more of its former glory after the Browns absolutely destroyed Ben Roethlisberger last December, sacking him eight times en route to a victory and knocking the Steelers out of the playoffs.
However, the Browns now are looking at starting rookie Colt McCoy while the Steelers are getting a very fresh and very eager Roethlisberger back from suspension.
I am a Browns fan, and I want to believe the Browns can upset the Steelers again, but that's probably not going to happen. The Browns are too injured and there's just too big of a talent gap here.

Atlanta Vs. Philadelphia

The Atlanta Falcons have been winning close games against bad teams.
The Eagles have been finding ways to win with two quarterbacks, both of them considered above average.
The Eagles and Falcons are a pretty good matchup as Matt Ryan goes against Kevin Kolb, unless Michael Vick is healthy enough to go on Sunday.
Either way, I think the Falcons have been cutting things too close while the Eagles feel they still have a lot to prove.

Kansas City Vs. Houston

The Texans got beat pretty good last week, but this is a team on the rise.
The Chiefs started the season 3-0 before running into the Colts, who the Chiefs couldn't beat even though the Colts clearly weren't playing their best.
The Chiefs aren't quite ready to be an elite team in the NFL, but the Texans are. The Chiefs are going to give the Texans a good game, but the Texans are going to come out of this game on top.

Seattle Vs. Chicago

I have yet to pick the Bears, and they're 4-1.
So I'm going to make the Bears fans happy and pick against them again.
I'm not a big believer in the Seattle Seahawks as things stand right now, and that's nothing personal, I just think the Seahawks are about a .500 team this season.
I reserve the right to be proved wrong.
But the Seahawks are coming off of a bye and the Bears can't hope to have Todd Collins start, throw four interceptions and hope to win against the Seahawks. That may have worked against the Panthers, but that won't work here.
Seattle 24 Chicago 7
Lions Vs. Giants
5 of 14
The Lions are fresh off of their first victory of the 2010 campaign, and that was without Matthew Stafford.
The Giants, after stumbling out of the gate, appear to have righted the ship and are a much better team than they were a month ago.
The Lions are a team with a lot of young talent, but they need another year.
The Giants will win this game unless the pattern of upsets this season continues, which I don't think it will in this case.
Lions 13 Giants 28
Ravens Vs. Patriots

This is going to be a good game.
There will be a lot of hard hits, a lot of big plays and a lot of highlights.
The question is, who will come out on top?
Right now I have to give the edge to the Ravens. The Ravens have a young, eager quarterback in Joe Flacco and the Ravens defense currently is ranked second versus the pass and the Patriots offense relies on Tom Brady for its success.
Ravens 21 Patriots 20
Chargers Vs. Rams
7 of 14
The San Diego Chargers just got beat by the Oakland Raiders and lost a close game to the Seattle Seahawks.
The Rams just lost to the Lions and Sam Bradford lost his best receiver in Mark Clayton.
It's going to take more than one week for the Rams to find a replacement for Clayton while Phillip Rivers and the Chargers will be out to prove they're not a team about to collapse.
Chargers 38 Rams 14
Miami Vs. Green Bay
8 of 14
The Green Bay Packers are so beat up and injured right now, it's not amusing in the slightest to any impartial NFL fan.
But that's the truth of the game and the Dolphins are going to win this contest unless they suffer a rash of injuries in the first half.
Miami 24 Green Bay 13
New Orleans Vs. Tampa Bay

The Bucs are a team on the way up, and the Saints don't look like defending Super Bowl champions this year.
The Saints lost to the Arizona Cardinals last week, a team starting an undrafted rookie quarterback.
The Saints have to figure out what the problem is, but it's going to take another loss to figure that out.
The Bucs continue to surprise the league, and win this game.
Saints 28 Bucs 31
Jets Vs. Broncos
10 of 14
The Jets have become one of the league's better teams while the Broncos continue to flirt with greatness but end up falling short.
Kyle Orton is putting up monster numbers, but he hasn't always been getting the wins to validate those numbers.
The Jets, after stumbling the first week of the season, have come on strong and are one of the league's better teams at the moment.
However, Orton and the Broncos find a way to win the game
Jets 18 Broncos 28
Oakland Vs. San Francisco
11 of 14
This is going to be an interesting game.
The Raiders and Niners both have unsettled quarterback situations as the Raiders probably will start Jason Campbell in place of an injured Bruce Gradkowski.
The Niners now have Alex Smith on a week-to-week evaluation after he nearly was benched in the Sunday night game versus the Eagles.
This game is more important for the Niners to win than the Raiders, but the Raiders will pull the victory out here.
Oakland 20 49ers 17
Dallas Vs. Minnesota
12 of 14
The Cowboys are a mess. Tony Romo tends to choke in high-pressure situations and the coaching staff trips over their own decisions.
The Vikings are a team with a lot of problems on offense as their only real wide receiver, Randy Moss, just arrived, and Brett Favre has been showing his age lately.
But the Cowboys make too many mistakes and are lucky to even have one victory so far this year. That's not going to change this week. The Vikings and Cowboys both are in bad positions, but the Vikings come out on top.
Dallas 24 Minnesota 30
Colts Vs. Redskins
13 of 14
The Colts are suffering from the lack of Tony Dungee as head coach.
Peyton Manning is one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the game and Jim Caldwell is turning into the Indianapolis version of Romeo Crennell, standing on the sidelines with a blank, somewhat confused stare on his face while his team gets beaten.
Meanwhile, Mike Shanahan is whipping this year's version of the Redskins into a pretty good team
But despite these facts, Donovan McNabb hasn't had a good "choke" game yet this season and Manning is on a mission to destroy whoever comes on the field to oppose him.
Colts 35 Redskins 13
Tennessee Vs. Jacksonville

Not that Vince Young is the greatest quarterback in the world, but he has a great supporting cast around him, including running back Chris Johnson, and the defense and special teams aren't too shabby.
The Jaguars do have a 3-2 record, but their last win came against the Buffalo Bills, who may not win a game this year.
This should be an easy win for the Titans.
Titans 42 Jaguars 21
