Who Can Take Out Brock Lesnar?

Joseph BonsignoreAug 18, 2008

Besides the obvious answer of Frank Mir, which HWs can take out Brock Lesnar?

Well, let me start off with the fact that I am a gigantic Lesnar hater. Don't get me wrong, he is a monster and will tear through almost any HW once he gets some more training. Still, I don't like his attitude one bit.

All of this is besides the point, though. Let's go through some HWs who could take him.

Fedor Emelianenko

I'm not going to explain why he could take Lesnar. Just go watch some of his previous fights if you don't understand why Fedor would win.

Fedor by anything he wants.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira

Big Nog is a BJJ expert, to say the least. We all know Lesnar's weakness is the ground right now. He had quite a few chances to slap a submission on Herring, and passed on all of them.

Nog will do his usual "get beat up and then slap a quick submission" on Lesnar, and that will be that.

Big Nog by rear naked choke.

Gabriel Gonzaga

Look what this guy did to Cro Cop—who is still one of the top HWs in the world on a lot of rankings. He wore him out with the excellent ground work, then nearly kicked his head off of his body.

His ground game is far superior to Lesnar's, and that will push him to victory easily.

Gonzaga by armbar.

Josh Barnett

The baby-faced Assassin is one of the best all around fighters we have today. Excellent wrestling, great ground game, and solid stand up.

He fought the best of the best when he was in PRIDE. Three of his five career losses have been to Cro Cop. The other two were to Pedro Rizzo (which was recently avenged) and Big Nog.

Barnett by toe hold.

Fabricio Werdum

The man has had his BJJ black belt since he was 20 years old. This is bad news for anyone who steps into the Octagon with him, especially Lesnar.

Werdum by triangle.

Mark Hunt

Some people may be a little surprised to see Hunt's name listed here. He took a good five-year break from MMA and came back to a KO loss to Semmy Schilt (the only REAL KO loss of his career).

The man has amazing KO power and can take a good shot (or 50 good shots) and not go down. I can see Hunt catching Lesnar with a right hook and laying him out.

Hunt by KO.

Randy Couture

He's has been out of action for about a year now, but the man still shocks the world every time he jumps into that Octagon. I can see him out-wrestling Lesnar and squeaking out a decision.

Someone said that there isn't an HW in the world that could stand for more than 30 seconds with Lesnar. I have to say I pretty much agree. The man is an animal and in a few years when he is at the top of his game, he will be close to unstoppable.

Are there others that could take Lesnar out? You tell me. Let me know who I missed.
