Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Personally, this what I look forward to every year. Even though I know that the Undertaker isnt going to lose at the event, I always look forward to seeing the Undertaker get a run for his money. Shawn Michaels is with out a doubt the Undertaker's greatest Wrestlemania opponent. I knew at Wrestlemania 25 HBK was going to lose. But, at Wrestlemania 26 I honestly thought HBK was going to do the impossible and overcome the deadman to end the streak. But of course he didn't.
There are opinions, predictions, and foreshadows of opponents to face the Undertaker every year. Some are good, but most are just straight not logical. Ranging from John Cena to The Miz, fans just want to see a good match.
So here are some superstars that fans talk about wanting to see go one-on-one with the phenom.
- John Cena
The face of the WWE, the superman, the whatever you prefer to acknowledge by, Cena has been the man since 2005. His WWE championship matches every year always disappoint me, besides the the two between HHH at WM22 and HBK at WM23. He is pretty much walking in the shadow of The Rock. But as far as him facing Taker at Wrestlemania 27 goes, I think that it would deliver. But I sure as hell don't believe the WWE should pick Cena to end the streak. Undertaker has done way to much to be overcomed by someone like Cena. I would rate this match an 8 out of 10.
- Kane
Okay, first off Kane is a wasted talent. His wrestling isnt the best and honestly I can't take him seriously. In my opinion, the only reason they gave Kane the recent championship is because every other superstar on Smackdown has had it and Kane was simply next in line. His promos have horror music in the background!! SERIOUSLY?! That is so corny and cheesy. I wouldn't pay 10 dollars to see Kane face Taker for a third time at Wrestlemania, because you don't even have to think about it. You already know that Taker is going to go over without a doubt in mind. Match rating would be a 6.5 out of 10.
- Chris Jericho
My personal pick for Taker's opponent. Jericho has never stopped impressing me. His heel character is the bomb, he has the best trash talk, and he has an entertaining style of wrestling with a mixture of power, high-flying, and confidence. If he took on the Undertaker at Wrestlemania it would definetaly have to be for the World Heavyweight Championship. Chris Jericho could actually be a reasonable pick for the streak ender. I would rate this an 8 out of 10.
- Randy Orton
Orton is now surpassing Cena. Though they have already fought at Wrestlemania 21, Orton was pretty much a rookie with something to prove. He had an alright match with Taker, but now that he is the best superstar in the WWE, he could take the phenom the distance for sure. He could definetaly be considered a possible opponent to end the streak. Match rating 9 out of 10.
- Sheamus
Without a doubt the most accomplished superstar in the shortest amount of time. I could be wrong but I don't even think Sheamus has been in the WWE for more than a year and has been a two time WWE Champion, rose to being one of the top three guys on Raw, and remained undefeated against Cena. Sheamus is definetaly a one of a kind guy. As of now, Sheamus is rumored to be facing Taker at Wrestlemania 27 to unify the world championships. Although I like Sheamus and think he is one of the best, I just don't think he has risen to Undertaker at Wrestlemania status yet. But who knows. Match rating 7 out of 10.
- Triple H
Oh boy, where do I start?! Well, there will be no other guy like Triple H. He has literally done it all. He has won an elimination chamber match, a Royal Rumble match, numerous Wrestlemania championship matches, and beaten the best ever: Steve Austin, The Rock, Mick Foley, HBK, etc. He has facen Taker once before at WM17 10 years ago. But I think that Triple H could make a good storyline with Undertaker for a match at this years event. With the Undertaker ending Triple H's best friend HBK's career last year, Triple H could be seeking retribution. Match rating 9.5 out of 10.
- (My choice) Goldberg
Okay, it is rumored to have a WCW themed Hall of Fame this year. And Goldberg was the WCW's biggest. He has always been dominant, unstoppable, and unleashed. With an undefeated streak of 173-0, I believe it is, Goldberg should be Undertaker's opponent. With Wrestlemania being in Goldberg's hometown of Atlanta, the crowd would be on the edge of their seats the entire match. Goldberg will without a doubt be Undertaker's biggest threat to the streak than anyone else including HBK. You can even throw in a career vs. streak stipulation in there to spicen up the fued. Goldberg has been talking about returning to the WWE for the sake of his young son. And if he did return, there would be no other choice but the Undertaker to face him, because he would demolish everybody else in his path. And with Undertaker at his very best at Wrestlemania and Goldberg in his home town being the monster he is, it can't get any bigger!Comment and give me your thoughts!!!
