NASCAR: Jamie McMurray on the Pole For Sunday's Pepsi Max 400
Jamie McMurray has won the pole for Sunday's Pepsi Max 400 at Auto Club Speedway with a speed of 185.285 MPH on Friday evening, his sixth pole of the 2010 season and seventh of his Sprint Cup career. McMurray also won the pole at Auto Club Speedway during the track's spring date in February.
Qualifying second was Elliott Sadler, who logged a lap of 39.04 seconds and a speed of 184.407 MPH. Sunday will mark Sadler's first front-row start since April of 2008 at Phoenix International Raceway.
The historically poor qualifier of Matt Kenseth surprised everyone by qualifying third for Sunday's race at Auto Club Speedway with a lap of 39.11 seconds and a speed of 184.096 MPH and was the fastest among chase drivers. Kenseth looks to feed off the excellent qualifying effort and back up his win at Auto Club Speedway in February of 2009.
Rounding at the top-five is Juan Pablo Montoya, who qualified fourth with a lap of 39.12 seconds and a speed of 184.086 MPH and Kasey Kahne, who qualified fifth with a lap of 39.14 seconds and a speed of 183.964 MPH.
