Eastern Michigan hasn’t been able to find a success anywhere on the field this season. Their two closest chances of winning game earlier in the season came against Army and Miami (OH). Heading into Vanderbilt Stadium this weekend, they’re in for another tough outing against the Commodores. Vandy’s only win came against Ole Miss two weeks ago, last week they suffered a 40-21 loss to Connecticut.

Keys to the Game:

-          Vanderbilt’s leading receiver, Brandon Barden had a solid performance last week, catching five passes for 35 yards and a touchdown. He should expect to see the ball thrown in his direction a lot more this weekend against this struggling defense.

-          Eastern Michigan’s losses haven’t been close. It seems impossible to forget their 73-20 loss to Ohio State two weeks ago. The team hasn’t been able to look good all season, their young quarterback Alex Gillett continues to take the snaps for the Eagles. He’s thrown seven touchdown passes and four interceptions this season.

-          Warren Norman’s touches were limited last week, as Vandy’s sophomore running back only had six touches against UConn. Second-string back, Zac Stacy also got six touches but only ran for 17 yards.

Vanderbilt has had a rough season this year. They’re matchup against Eastern Michigan will help them generate some offensive momentum. Their running game has been solid; ranked 58th in the nation, averaging 163.3 rushing yards per game. Eastern Michigan could very well be looking at their sixth-straight loss of the season, but they won’t get blown out of the water.
