UFC 124: Jason MacDonald and Ricardo Almeida To See Action in Montreal
What a night UFC 124 is shaping up to be.
When the UFC makes its return to Montreal, Quebec, Canada this December, the card will be memorable in the minds of the Canadian crowd for more than just the Welterweight Title Showdown between Josh Koscheck and the UFC Welterweight Champ, arguable pound-for-pound king Georges "Rush" St-Pierre.
MMA Junkie reported Wednesday afternoon that well-rounded Renzo Gracie warrior Ricardo "Big Dog" Almeida will be looking to bounce back from a UFC 117 loss to Matt Hughes by facing a product of Canada and rising Welterweight star TJ Grant in the first of the two recently announced bouts.
Fanhouse MMA reports that in the second bout, UFC fans in the Great White North will be seeing one of their own in action at 185 pounds, as Jason "The Athlete" MacDonald looks to bounce back from his UFC 113 loss to John Salter—and a serious leg injury—to take on hungry Renzo Gracie prospect Rafael Natal in what should be an exciting Middleweight bout.
MacDonald would do well to remember that he's not the only man in his fight with Natal to be coming back from a tough loss.
In his UFC debut last month at UFC's Ultimate Fight Night 22, Natal had a 2-0 streak snapped at the hands of "The Raging Bull" Rich Attonito of Ultimate Fighter 11 fame.
As for Ricardo Almeida, he'll have to know that after beating Julio Paulino, Grant is looking to carry his momentum forward and also score the biggest win of his career so far when he steps in the cage with Almeida in Montreal..
No doubt that the mission for both Almeida and Natal will be to do more than just beat their opponents for a win at UFC 124.
They'll be looking to send shockwaves by beating two tough Canadians on their home turf.
We'll all tune in on December 11 to see if they can get back to the winning track.
