NFL Picks Week 5: Predictions For Every Game; Will The 49ers Beat The Eagles?
Here are my NFL Week 4 Picks for all 16 games.
You'll see some interesting selections, including my thoughts on whether the San Francisco 49ers can beat the Vick-less Philadelphia Eagles.
Moreover, will the Kansas City Chiefs continue their undefeated streak against the Indianapois Colts? Will the Vikings pull an upset over the New York Jets.
Find out my predictions on that, and much more.
Last Week: 7-7
Cumulative Season Record: 31-31
Jacksonville Jaguars (2-2) @ Buffalo Bills (0-4)
1 of 14
Winner: Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars have had their fair share of struggles this season, but should be able win this game easily.
Expect Maurice Jones-Drew and their 12th-ranked rushing attack to exploit the Bills worst-ranked run defense.
This game will be broadcasted on CBS at 1:00 P.M. EDT
Denver Broncos (2-2) @ Baltimore Ravens (3-1)
2 of 14
Winner: Baltimore Ravens
In my opinion, the Baltimore Ravens are the No. 1 team in the league and should have a commanding victory over the Denver Broncos.
It'll be interesting to see how the underrated Kyle Orton does against the league's top ranked defense.
This game will be broadcasted on CBS at 1:00 P.M. EDT
Kansas City Chiefs (3-0) @ Indianapolis Colts (2-2)
3 of 14
Winner: Indianapolis Colts
This will certainly be the Chiefs biggest test yet.
If one were to compare the two teams solely based on misconceptions, the Colts would win in a landslide.
However, the dynamic duo of Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones probably won't allow that to happen.
Nonetheless, there's no way that the Colts drop two consecutive especially because they're 34-6 at home over the past five seasons.
This game will be broadcasted on CBS at 1:00 P.M. EDT
Green Bay Packers (3-1) @ Washington Redskins (2-2)
4 of 14
Winner: Green Bay Packers
The Washington Redskins may have had some impressive divisional victories, but I don't see them competing alongside teams such as the Green Bay Packers.
I project Aaron Rodgers to absolutely tear up the 'Skins 31st-ranked pass defense.
This game will be broadcasted on FOX at 1:00 P.M. EDT
St. Louis Rams (2-2) @ Detroit Lions (0-4)
5 of 14
Winner: Detroit Lions
Even though these two teams have been amongst the league's worst over the past few seasons, they've been surprisingly better.
Last time these two played, the Lions gave the Rams their first win (and only) win of the season.
This time around, I see Lions getting revenge.
On a side note, I'm intrigued by the matchup between Sam Bradford and Ndamukong Suh, this year's No. 1 and 2 overall picks respectively
This game will be broadcasted on FOX at 1:00 P.M. EDT
Chicago Bears (3-1) @ Carolina Panthers (0-4)
6 of 14
Winner: Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears displayed their true colors as they were literally sacked hard in a 17-3 loss to the New York Giants.
How the Bears perform in this game will be a good indicator of their mental toughness and ability to recover.
In this one, I see them beating out the Panthers who've been absolutely terrible this season.
The only thing going for them, their rushing attack, won't even be a major factor as the Bears boast the sixth best run defense in the league.
This game will be broadcasted on FOX at 1:00 P.M. EDT
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1) @ Cincinnati Bengals (2-2)
7 of 14
Winner: Cincinnati Bengals
Both teams are fresh off emberassing losses, so they should be motivated to redeem themselves.
The Buccaneers are one of the most overrated teams in the league, as they rank amongst the bottom in nearly all major statistical categories. Their two wins come against the lowly Browns and Panthers.
The Bengals are the more skilled team, and should win this one.
This game will be broadcasted on FOX at 1:00 P.M. EDT
Atlanta Falcons (3-1) @ Cleveland Browns (1-3)
8 of 14
Winner: Atlanta Falcons
I'd like to say congratulations to the Cleveland Browns for earning their first win of the season.
Enjoy it while it lasts, because the losing starts again this week.
The Falcons are displaying all the qualities of a premier team, and are very tough to beat right now.
This game will be broadcasted on FOX at 1:00 P.M. EDT
New York Giants (2-2) @ Houston Texans (3-1)
9 of 14
Winner: Houston Texans
This is truly the hardest game to predict, because I simply don't know which Giants team will come to play this week.
Will it be the one that looked sloppy against the Titans or the one that dominated the Bears?
Based on pure talent alone, though, I'll give the edge to the Texans.
Note, reigning defensive rookie of the year Brian Cushing returns from his four-game suspension this week.
This game will be broadcasted on FOX at 1:00 P.M. EDT
New Orleans Saints (3-1) @ Arizona Cardinals (2-2)
10 of 14
Winner: New Orleans Saints
I think the Arizona Cardinals are truly one of the worst teams in the league, and their 2-2 record is very misleading.
The New Orleans Saints may not be playing like champions, but they should trample over the Cardinals in this one. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose in another 30+ point blowout.
This game will be broadcasted on FOX at 4:05 P.M. EDT
Tennessee Titans (2-2) @ Dallas Cowboys (1-2)
11 of 14
Winner: Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys are coming off a bye, so they should be fine-tuned and ready to go.
As a result, I predict them to claim the victory over a Titans team that isn't as sharp as I thought they were.
This game will be broadcasted on CBS at 4:15 P.M. EDT
San Diego Chargers (2-2) @ Oakland Raiders (1-3)
12 of 14
Winner: San Diego Chargers
The San Diego Chargers are fresh off a monstrous win over the Arizona Cardinals, and if they seem to be firing on all cylinders.
The Bolts are undoubtedly a talented team, and if they can execute then they are a force to be reckoned with.
Therefore, I expect them to capitalize and take home a victory here.
This game will be broadcasted on CBS at 4:15 P.M. EDT
San Francisco 49ers (0-4) @ Philadelphia Eagles (2-2)
13 of 14
Winner: San Francisco 49ers
According to reports, Michael Vick has been ruled out of this game which is clearly a devestating blow to the team.
Even though they face a winless 49ers team, I don't see how their offense can generate enough spark to win this game.
Moreover, don't be surprised to see Frank Gore shred the Eagles 27th ranked run defense.
At the same time, I'd be worried that the turnover-prone Alex Smith faces a unit that has already intercepted six passes which is fourth best in the league.
I think this will certainly be a close one, and could go either way.
This game will be broadcasted on NBC at 8:20 P.M. EDT on Sunday Night Football.
Minnesota Vikings (1-2) @ New York Jets (3-1)
14 of 14
Winner: Minnesota Vikings
This game is filled with critical matchups and intriguing headlines, making this the most exciting game of the week.
The Vikings have got off to a slow start, but will be looking to pick things up with an impressive road victory here.
Even though the Jets have looked very strong lately, I have a feeling that the Vikings will pull off an upset.
This game will be broadcasted on ESPN at 8:30 P.M. EDT
