Matt Kenseth and Wife Katie: Behind the Scenes With a NASCAR WAG
Our wife of the week this week is none other than Katie Kenseth.
Katie is wife of Matt Kenseth, driver of the No. 17 Crown Royal Ford, who currently sits in the 11th points position.
Early Life

Katie grew up on a farm only eight miles from Matt’s home town. As a child she helped her father raise pigs and grow tobacco before switching to corn and soy beans.
Katie also cleaned rooms in a motel and worked the cash register at the store next door. This is where she first met Matt.
“I had a little crush on him, but he wouldn’t give me the time of day,” Katie said in an interview with scenedaily.com. “I’m glad he didn’t try to pick me up because I was just 13.”
Matt and Katie

When Katie saw Matt at a wedding years later, she mentioned his aloof attitude at the store. The two have been attached ever since.
They got married in 2000 and had their first child together in 2009.
The low key attitude of the couple has made them decide not to start their own foundation but they are active contributors to the multiple foundations in the NASCAR family.
Children

Katie and Matt have two children, although Kaylin Kenseth is their first child together.
Matt’s son, Ross, is 16 years older than his little sister and is active in the racing scene. In fact, when father Matt won the Daytona 500 last year, Ross was winning his own race at a different track.
Pretty Woman
4 of 4
Katie has been called “the Julia Roberts of NASCAR,” by Krissy Newman and the comparison to the Pretty Woman actress seems to be pretty correct.
Not much is said about Katie, but the Wisconsin farm girl is definitely a down home NASCAR fan in addition to a popular NASCAR wife.
