Arsenal: Jack Wilshere's Performances Show That He Deserves to Start For Club, Country
Jack Wilshere started against Chelsea on Sunday, and in my opinion, was Arsenal's best player in the match. He was calm and composed on the ball, and didn't seem to be overawed by the occasion. He was not muscled out by the strong duo of Michael Essien and John Obi Mikel and managed to hold his own.
This performance showed that he has a lot of mental strength, and he does not look out of place, even against the best. Wilshere tried his best to help Arsenal control the game, and unfortunately, even his creativity could not open up the solid Chelsea.

One surging run from midfield to Chelsea's penalty area, opened up a lot of space for his comrades, but they could not utilise it.
Wilshere has been touted as the next big thing for the Gunners and England, and it is easy to see why. He has been impressive for the Gunners, so far in this season, and Arsene Wenger has shown great faith in the teenager by giving him starts in important games such as Liverpool, Braga, and Chelsea. His spell with Bolton under Owen Coyle, earlier in the year, has made him stronger, physically, and mentally.
He has excellent vision, passing range and creativity, and can play in all positions in the midfield. His performances have shown a maturity beyond his years, and has shown excellent composure, playing in a deep role in the midfield.
He played in an advanced role in midfield for Bolton, and again, he was a success in that role for the Trotters. Wilshere's back heel to set up Chamakh against Braga and his assist in the goal scored by Andrei Arshavin shows his creativity.
Arsenal have a lot of talented youngsters coming through the academy, and one of the brightest talents to emerge is Wilshere. He joined Arsenal at the tender age of 9, and has risen through the ranks at the academy.
Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey are two of the most creative young midfielders for Arsenal, and they should both form the crux of the midfield in the future.
Wilshere's talent has never been in question, but is he ready to be an integral part of the Arsenal setup?
He is on the verge of establishing himself as a starter for Arsenal and should be one of the most important players within the next couple of seasons. Also, he has already made his England debut and has been called up for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers.
Fabio Capello has already named Wilshere as one of the most important players for England's future, and in Frank Lampard's absence due to injuries, Wilshere might get the chance to establish himself in the England line-up. His versatility is a big advantage, and England is in need of a quality midfielder alongside Steven Gerrard. The combination of Lampard and Gerrard does not seem to be effective, and Wilshere might be the man to solve their woes.
In the next few years, Wilshere will only continue to improve under the tutelage of Arsene Wenger, who has immense faith in his ability. He has shown that Wenger's faith in him is not misplaced and can prove to be the difference in this season.
