However, after further examination, the injury appears to be too serious for him to play this week, and Kevin Kolb will replace him as the starter.
Vick has been spectacular this season, and is widely being considered an MVP candidate. So far, After being given a golden opportunity to replace the concussed Kolb, he was able to play well enough to garner the full-time starter role.
He's thrown for 799 yards and six touchdowns, with a 108.8 passer rating. His dynamic playmaking ability has added another dimension to their offense, and has been an integral key to it's success.
Even though the 49ers are 0-4, don't necessarily consider this an easy win. They are undoubtedly a talented team, and demonstrated that by taking games against the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons to the wire.
Thereofore, Kolb will need to take reigns of this offense and play his best football until Vick can return.
