MMA: YouTube’s 10 Most Brutal Nut Shot Videos

Dale De SouzaOct 4, 2010

Don't you just love a good nut shot?

I mean, sure it's probably not where you intended to hit, but hey, it hits cleanly on the spot every time, it damages your opponent, and it bring you one step closer to kicking the other guy's ass, right?

Yeah, tell that to the guy who just witness a brief moment of a kickball game starring his opponent's foot and his balls.

Never cool, dude. Never ever cool.

Now some of what you're about to see is similar to the above picture of Kamal Shalorus delivering the  groin kick -- intended to just be an inside leg kick—to Jaime Varner, although it hurt a lot more in some of these cases.

Take a look at these nut shots, which rank among the most brutal to be found on YouTube, and hopefully don't hurt your junk just watching them..

10.

Flash back to the quarterfinals of the 2006 K-1 World Grand Priz in Tokyo, when Remy Bonjasky fought Stefan Leko.

That Bonjasky eventually won the fight by unanimous decision made little difference in the long run, as he was unable to advance in the Grand Prix due to injury.

Two kicks in the groin were all Leko needed to damage Bonjasky, without ever needing to finish him. What you're about to see is one of them.

9. The Jumper

2 of 14

Now I can't quite tell who these fellas are or what organization they are fighting for here—clearly the promotion is akin to K-1 in some format, what with the gloves and such—but I'd call this one "The Jumper," if I have to call it anything.

Note the gentleman in the gray shorts, as he's the instigator of nut shot number nine.

As you can see, the guy with the blue gloves goes in for what appears to be a low push kick, but the guy with the gray shorts (red gloves) reacts with what is supposed to be an inside right leg kick.

This nut shot is "The Jumper" because apparently someone convinced this guy that, rather than waiting about two-to-three minutes, doing about three small jumps in the corner helps out with recovering from the shot to the groin.

8. Nothing But Groin

3 of 14

Unlike the #10 entrant on this list, this nut shot I believe was aimed initially at the abdomen, but got nothing but groin when it hit.

It happens in the first five seconds of this video, and the recipient will be in the white trunks (red gloves).

Don't you just hate when you're trying to give your opponent "the business" you're trying to engage on the feet in something of a striking war—and your opponent kicks you in the nuts?

The guy in the red gloves does exactly the latter while the former winces in pain and really looks like he just got hit by one of Pat Barry's leg kicks as he recovers from the nut shot.

What's worse than one nut shot?

That's right...

TWO knees to the family jewels.

Our instigator here throws a knee with his opponent's back against the cage and is warned about it by the ref, but then he gets his opponent against the cage and does the exact same thing.

If you look real closely after the second warning, you might be able to recognize the referee as Mario Yamasaki.

Well, looks like him anyways.

Hey, at least he kept his knees away from MY NUTS!

Let's not BS here: Back in the PRIDE days, calling Zuluzinho a can was pretty out there, especially for a guy the size of Zuluzinho—someone who looked like he could've eaten you and your children's children.

Here, he backs Henry "Sentoryu" Miller up against the corner and delivers what might have looked to some as a knee to the inside of the leg, but it was actually something resembling a wide-open kick (or maybe it was a knee) to the "forbidden zone" of Sentoryu.

Watch what Zuluzinho does to this dude and tell me that even Royce Gracie could have handled Zuluzinho easily, even when Zulu could do something like this to somebody.

He didn't exactly get a seven-second submission of Akebono when he fought him, you know.

I have to think the guy in the pink shorts was wearing one solid cup—that's the only reason I thought this nut shot wasn't going to make this list after all.

What made me decide to "top five" this shot?

The gent in the blue trunks delivers a knee to the groin that basically drops his opponent, who gets up only to fall down once again before a replay is shown.

Weird, because when I watched the replay near the end of the clip, the guy dropped his opponent with the nut shot, but the shot looked how it would if the guy was wearing a firmly-placed cup.

This guy has quite a set, then—if he wasn't wearing one.

Either that, or he's a tough motherf**ker for real.

Talk about balls of steel...

Get a load of Joe Son's wonderful sack.

Seriously, the guy has some testicular fortitude to have Keith Hackney pound at his nuts and yet not break the lock he had on him.

Maybe he wore a cup, but all I can guess is that Joe Son was a guy who was nuts, and had some pretty tough nuts to boot.

Okay, so one guy has hair and the other doesn't in our number two clip, and it looks as though the two are going to strike until one of them knocks the other out, right?

Well, yeah...until the baldie says, "Hey! Let me throw a knee lift because it'd be really cool to knock this dude out in a flashy type of way."

Yeah, real flashy...

Now show me the flash in leaving your junk wide open, homie.

Maybe we can see how flashy it is when you go for a wicked flying knee and you end up on the canvas hoping you can still feel your left and right ones after a knee catches you in your "for her eyes only" parts.

Oh well, we can guess, can't we?

Take a look at the video to see how it really turned out for both guys.

If nut shots were legal in MMA, the guy responsible for this, our No. 1 entry might make some dude's "top 10 greatest KO's in MMA" list.

I want to say these two guys were lightweights, but they were fighting in a promotion called the AFC, and the one in the blue shorts just delivered a right kick that didn't KO his opponent, but it did rock his bank.

Why they call this "the nut shot heard around the world" is simple: It hurt the guy's junk so badly that even if you didn't know of this organization or this fight, your own junk felt it right at the second this nut shot connected.

Nut Shot Hall Of Famer No. 1: No Limits To the Axe Murderer's Abandon

11 of 14

In mainstream discussions of famous nut shots, this fight is likely to be the nut shot that your average fan will classify as "The REAL nut shot heard around the world," especially in comparison to the number 1 entrant on this list.

I wouldn't blame them for including Wand's nut shot on Gilbert Yvel in their top or on the top of their list. It rocked Yvel's nuts about as well as Wanderlei's strike ever rocked anyone in his illustrious career.

Nut Shot Hall Of Famer No. 2: Fisher Vs. Bosso

12 of 14

Wayne Fisher is the guy with no shirt on.

Lambert Bosso is the guy with the shirt on.

Watch this fight and witness how you can win a fight—without actually going for the KO—if you're fighting without gloves.
