Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Sam Bradford & Week 5 Waiver Pickups
Now that Week 5 has come to a close, it's time to evaluate how your players did and what your team's strengths and weaknesses are.
Accordingly, you may need to make adjustments, and one of the best ways to do so is through the waiver wire.
In order to help you in your efforts, here's some advice on who I would think about adding to your roster.
Sam Bradford
1 of 8
After an impressive start, the St. Louis Rams are looking smart for investing their No. 1 overall pick in quarterback Sam Bradford
He and Mark Clayton have developed a strong rapport, and it's helped him make a fluid transition into the pros.
Bradford's already thrown six touchdowns and 944 yards.
I've already picked him up as my backup quarterback.
Lance Moore
2 of 8
The New Orleans Saints are one of the most prolific offenses in the league, and it's primarily because of quarterback Drew Brees' ability to make his receivers better.
Lance Moore has subtly caught three touchdowns in the past two games and could possibly replicate the stats he posted in '08.
I'd consider him a serviceable backup wide receiver.
Nate Washington
3 of 8
Tennessee Titans receiver Nate Washington has become one of Vince Young's favorite targets and is poised to set career highs in all major statistics for wide receivers.
He's a quality backup WR in most fantasy leagues.
John Kuhn
4 of 8
When the Packers lost Ryan Grant to a season-ending ankle injury, we all knew that somebody would have to step up.
Brandon Jackson was expected to be the guy but has struggled with the added workload. Therefore, John Kuhn has been called upon and has delivered.
The Packers will need to run the ball more when the weather changes, and I anticipate him making the most of his opportunities.
Jeremy Shockey
5 of 8
Jeremy Shockey has been rather impressive over the last couple of weeks, and I expect him to maintain his high level of play moving forward.
Making matters even better, the Saints face the Cardinals this week, who allowed Antonio Gates to make seven receptions for 144 yards and two touchdowns.
Benjamin Watson
6 of 8
Benjamin Watson has 18 receptions for 185 yards along with a touchdown so far this season, which has been a pleasant surprise.
Since a reliable tight end is an inexperienced quarterback's best friend, Watson should be targeted often in most games.
I'd definitely take a look at him, especially in deeper leagues.
Nick Folk
7 of 8
The New York Jets offense is clicking, and that's good news for kicker Nick Folk because it equates into additional scoring opportunities.
Folk has nailed seven of nine field goals in two weeks of play, and that should continue.
If you're looking for a quality starter, pick up Folk.
San Diego Chargers
8 of 8
Honestly, I couldn't believe the San Diego Chargers were available in 72 percent of Yahoo! fantasy leagues.
They have elevated their play to the next level and are ranked No. 4 in terms of sacks with 15 and have already registered 10 turnovers.
Pick them up as soon as possible before somebody else does.
