WWE Hell in a Cell Results: John Cena Joins Nexus and Undertaker Is Betrayed!

LewisOct 4, 2010

Hey Bleacherholics!

For all you guys out there that missed Hell in the Cell, Some dramatic events occurred!

The main stories are: Nexus now has a new member, John Cena, Undertaker was betrayed by Paul Bearer, and all champions prevailed.

TOP NEWS

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh
Monday Night RAW

Daniel Bryan (Champion) vs John Morrison vs The Miz

I really enjoyed this match, and the inclusion of John Morrison for me gave it a much needed edge. Morrison literally stole the show with some insane stuff. A predictable match but fun.

Mentionable spots:

John Morrison does Starship Pain onto both Daniel Bryan and Miz whilst the duo had leg submissions locked on each other.

John Morrison grappled his way up the entrance display only to launch a diving press onto Miz and Bryan.

What's Next:

Daniel Bryan needs another opponent, a member of the Nexus would be great whilst John Morrison wouldn't be a bad opt either.

Miz can now concentrate on his MITB briefcase and maybe a main eventer to feud with.

Bryan vs John Morrison at Bragging Rights would be nice.

Randy Orton (Champion) vs Sheamus

I was pretty shocked that the WWE Championship bout was the second match of the night. Pretty decent match but I never really got into it (maybe I was waiting for someone to go on top of the cell). Sheamus was as dangerous and brutal as ever, he really excelled in the cell. Orton was selling an abdominal injury which Sheamus continually targeted.

The ending was great. Orton RKO'd Sheamus onto the steel steps for the victory and then climbed up top (holes were in the cell to allow help to climb up) to celebrate.

Mentionable spots:

Randy ordering the cameraman to move only to slam Sheamus onto the cage.

Randy's RKO onto the steps

What's Next:

Orton needs another challenger, maybe Edge and the GM can make things difficult for him.

Sheamus' next big feud will likely be Triple H. Until then he can elevate someone in the upper mid cards.

Edge Vs Jack Swagger

Alberto Del Rio's music hit and he entered gracefully with yet another luxurious car. Alberto joined the ring with his announcer and began to speak until Edge interrupted. Edge then proclaimed everything is stupid including Del Rio's trademark wink and scarf, and after much of confrontation Swagger entered only to get told he was stupid by Edge, which ultimately led to a brawl.

The Raw GM computer came into play and Michael Cole announced that Swagger Vs Edge would begin now.

The match itself was okay. It was nothing special, but okay for short notice. The crowd seemed bored with this match. The commentators kept mentioning Edge's previously torn Achilles tendon which Swagger was targeting with his Kurt Angle-like submission. Edge wins with a spear.

Mentionable Spots:

Swagger's evolution into Kurt Angle. He did that run to the top of the turnbuckle and throw that Kurt Angle does.

Edge slammed into the cameraman.

What's Next:

Swagger needs a feud either with Kofi Kingston or Edge as a Kofi/Swagger feud could be entertaining.

Edge is in a feud with the RAW GM, and is looking more and more like a face. A title match at Bragging Rights against Randy Orton doesn't seem off the cards just yet.

Wade Barrett vs John Cena

This was the match I was waiting for. I generally didn't know how this would turn out.I heard that Nexus may have disbanded by October a few weeks back, but I really wanted Cena to join Nexus. The match was pretty well done, tease finishes were done several times, but the lethal blow came when a "fan" (guessing it's Michael McGillicutty) lunged into the ring when Cena locked in the STF whilst a Husky Harris-looking dude hits John Cena with a steel pipe. Wade Barrett wins and John Cena joins the NEXUS!

Mentionable Spots:

Wasteland by Barrett then Cena directly hits an Attitude Adjustment to no prevail.

Nexus cuddles round the ring but eventually gets taken out by some of the WWE roster.

The ending. The guys involved I'm guessing are Season 2 rookies, Michael McGillicutty and Husky Harris. This might end up in a season 2 Nexus alliance on Smackdown.

What's Next:

Cena will most get ordered around reluctantly by Nexus until a match against him and Barrett, where if Cena wins, he leaves Nexus.

Wade Barrett will most likely wander around with Nexus and mumble: "You're either NEXUS or you're against us."

Michelle McCool (champion) w/ Layla Vs Natalya

A rematch from the first-ever Diva Championship match from The Bash 2008, which Natalya lost. Lots of sharpshooter references by Natayla, but the interference from Layla and a shoe cost her the title, though she won via DQ.

Mentionable Spots:

The Shoe of Layla is thrown in the ring and subsequently gave Natalya a DQ win.

What's Next:

Natayla will probably get another shot.

McCool and Layla will reign supreme on WWE.

Kane (Champion) Vs The Undertaker w/ Paul Bearer

This match was superb! I expected a betrayal event with Paul Bearer. He flashed a light from the Urn at Taker and Kane took advantage to take the victory.

Mentionable spots:

Kane chases Paul Bearer around the ring!

Undertaker has his piledriver reversed into a Kane Tombstone piledriver, which saw Undertaker's head quite close to the knees where Kane drops down. A nervous moment there.

What's next:

This feud will continue but WWE should have saved this until WrestleMania time.
