Auburn Overwhelms ULM: My Thoughts About It
Quarterback Cam Newton directed Auburn to a comfortable halftime advantage and a variety of backups finished off Louisiana-Monroe in Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday.
It was Auburn 52, ULM 3, and it was as convincing as the score sounded.
Newton didn't run it, at least it didn't appear he had any called running plays, but he threw three touchdown passes.
He has thrown at least two TD passes in each of Auburn's five games.
Newton completed 14 of 19 passes for 245 yards. Fannin led the Tigers with 89 yards on 10 carries. Auburn had more than 500 yards of offense.
Auburn played plenty of backups, especially on defense, and as early as the first quarter.
The Tigers improved to 5-0 heading into next Saturday's game at Kentucky.
My Thoughts
Wow, Zachary was getting some pretty good yardage. He and the quarterback must have had their minds set to get a ton of yardage. The run plays weren't as good as expected as the other team seemed to be defensively geared toward run-play blocking. Auburn's defense was very solid. The QB did a great job tonight for Auburn overall.
