NFL Week 4: Chris J. Nelson's Game Predictions
It was a pretty rough week for me in Week 3, as I was under .500 for the first time in a long time. Gotta do better than that.
Last week's record: 7-9
2010 season record: 26-22 (54.2 percent)
Falcons over 49ers — The Falcons are coming off a big upset win in New Orleans, so I like Matt Ryan to continue his hot play against a Niners team with some questions on offense.
Jets over Bills — Buffalo gave the Patriots a bit of a scare in Week 3, but there is just no way they muster up enough offense against an extremely good Jets defense.
Bengals over Browns — Cincinnati hasn't been as impressive as some though they'd be, but I'm not a huge fan of the Browns and their offense centered on by Peyton Hillis.
Packers over Lions — Green Bay lost to an inferior Chicago team because of some miscues and decision-making last week, but they should have no problem handling the Lions.
Titans over Broncos — These are two teams I'm not all that high on, but I like Chris Johnson to lead the Titans over the Broncos.
Rams over Seahawks — St. Louis is playing much better than expected with rookie quarterback Sam Bradford, and I still think Seattle is somewhat of a pretender. I like the Rams at home.
Saints over Panthers — New Orleans lost a close one to the Falcons last week, but this division rival doesn't present nearly the same threat. I don't think Jimmy Clausen is ready to lead a passing attack yet, so I like the Saints.
Ravens over Steelers — The Steelers have certainly surprised everyone a bit during the absence of Ben Roethlisberger, while the Ravens haven't played nearly as well as most expected. However, I like the Ravens defense to step up this week for a minor upset win.
Texans over Raiders — While they lost a surprising game last week to give Dallas its first victory, I like Matt Schaub to right the ship and get the win against Oakland.
Colts over Jaguars — The Jaguars are an absolute mess right now and are pretty much playing without a quarterback. Not exactly a recipe to beat Peyton Manning and a red-hot Colts offense.
Redskins over Eagles — It's a bit of an emotional pick, but if there is any justice in this world, Donovan McNabb will return to Philly and light up the Eagles for a win.
Chargers over Cardinals — San Diego has certainly disappointed this year, but I hate Arizona's quarterback situation and simply have to go with the much more talented Chargers.
Giants over Bears — I'm still not sold on the 3-0 Bears, while I think Eli Manning and the Giants have to rebound at some point. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's this week.
Dolphins over Patriots — Miami is determined to not let happen again what happened against the Jets in Week 3. I think they'll come out fired up and hand the Patriots a loss.
