Are the New York Giants in Crisis? The Time Has Come For Tiki Barber to Shut Up
The Giants are off to a 1-2 start on the season and they have not looked impressive. After a convincing win over the Carolina Panthers, the Giants have dropped two straight in ugly fashion. Brandon Jacobs fired a helmet into the crowd, Eli Manning has more interceptions than touchdowns, and teams are exposing the defense.
Is it time to hit the panic button? Former Giants running back Tiki Barber thinks so and made a point of commenting on head coach Tom Coughlin and the state of the Giants football team.
In a telephone interview to publicize his induction into the Giants’ new Ring of Honor, Barber was quoted as saying, “When you’re fighting against something that’s not necessarily real, you make it real.” Barber said Thursday, “That’s why he’s at a crisis. He needs to figure out a way to get control of the situation, whether it’s playing better and not making mistakes, whether it’s having a group of players like he did in previous years stand up and take accountability for what’s going on.”

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
This is not the first time that Barber has been vocal about his former team. When he left the team he was critical of Coughlin and quarterback Eli Manning and his ability to lead the team. The Giants responded with winning the Super Bowl.
Barber is losing any creditability that he may have had with the Giants and their fans. The organization is showing their appreciation by putting Barber in the Ring of Honor and how does he repay them? He attacks the coach and calls out the team. He has openly admitted that he does not interact with anyone on the current team, so it is fair to say that his comments are speculation at best.
It’s time for Tiki Barber to shut up. The Giants show him respect and although it is okay to question some aspects of his former team, overall he should stay loyal to a team and an organization that is still loyal to him.
It is early in the season and the Giants have enough talent to be competitive in the NFC East. Coughlin and the Giants players are not panicking. They understand that they have mistakes that they need to address and that they could play better and will have to if they want to make the playoffs.
The Giants will use Barber’s comments to motivate this team and it would not be surprising to see Barber receive from boos’ from the Giants fans. The Giants will use the negative comments as a spring board to win some games, starting Sunday night against the Bears.
If we are all lucky hopefully that win will shut Tiki Barber up.
