Three Things To Look For This Season: Chokes, People Eaters, and Sleepers Oh My!

Ryan NelsonAug 15, 2008

Cowboys choke in playoffs after great regular season might be the headline in the Dallas metro area newspaper in January, and this is why.

Tony Romo is not a good quarterback under pressure. He is nervy and makes rash decisions when under pressure, especially the pressure of the whole season coming down to him making plays. Romo has proved over the past two years that he isn't a good quarterback in the playoffs. If your quarterback isn't having success, your offense is struggling. He is a good quarterback, but until he can prove he can win in the playoffs, and/or Super Bowl, he won't be a great quarterback.

"Purple People Eaters" are back and now they have a pass rush. The Vikings' "D" is going to dominate, and Jared Allen is going to be the cornerstone. Pat and Kevin Williams can't be double teamed anymore because of Allen, and this is going to be great for Vikings fans. Also, the Vikings offense is going to do wonders because of three things: Bernard Berrian, Adrian Peterson, and the offensive line. Tarvaris Jackson  finally has a deep threat receiver that can catch. Troy Williamson was a bust and we all know it. Berrian is a veteran wide-out who knows what it takes to win. Jackson's O-Line can block, if he gets protection, he can be dangerous.

and finally,

Jets and Pats are neck-and-neck in the AFC East. Finally, some competition in the AFC East for the New England Patriots. The Gang Green is back, with a QB that can win. An Ironman will get the Jets back to the playoffs. New England, watch out, the Jets could be as big of a sleeper as Jacksonville, with the addition of Favre. Look for the Jets to maybe (and that's a BIG maybe) to knock off the Pats.
