WWE U.S Title: Why John Morrison vs. Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz is a Good Match

It was announced on Raw that John Morrison and the Miz will challenge Daniel Bryan for the U.S belt.  This match could be a win win situation for everyone, even the fans. 

All three wrestlers have taken a very different route to get were they are in their career now, but are they all at a point were they need one last push to elevate them into the spotlight?

John Morrison joined WWE in 2002 after he won Tough Enough III with Matt Cappotelli. His first push in the company was when he was teamed with Joey Mercury and Melina to form the trio MNM on Smackdown. MNM went on to win 3 tag team championships before their abrupt split.

After the break up of MNM, Morrison and Melina debuted on Raw. However, Morrison and Melina drifted apart as a team as she began to focus on the women’s belt and Morrison began to focus on the Intercontinental belt.

Morrison won the belt on two occasions before being drafted to ECW. After only being on ECW for a week Morrison then went onto win the vacant ECW belt, but eventually lost it to CM Punk.

Although initially enemies Morrison and the Miz became a tag team and won the world tag team belts and the WWE tag team championships.

The team became popular with fans and went onto to win the 2008 slammy tag team award of the year, and 2008 slammy award for the best WWE.com exclusive for their online Dirt Sheet segments.

Miz and Morrison broke up in 2009 after Miz was drafted Raw and Morison was drafted to Smackdown. Morrison turned face for the first time in his WWE career and got an even bigger push. He won the Intercontinental belt off Rey Mysterio but eventually lost it to Drew McIntyre. Morrison’s career has stalled ever since.

He was then drafted to RAW in 2010 but has been stopping and stalling more than a car. John Morrison is in need of a push from the midcard jobber slump he currently is in and this match could do just that.

The Miz started his career in WWE when he applied for the fourth series of Tough Enough in 2004. He was not successful in winning the competition but was hired by WWE. Miz debuted on Smackdown in 2006 and became the ‘host’ of smackdown.  

Miz eventually started wrestling and thus begun his ‘undefeated streak’ until the boogeyman ended it in December. Miz then stumbled for a couple of months with a failed segment called ‘Miz TV’ until he was drafted to ECW.

Miz and Morrison became bitter enemies before being teamed together and winning the tag team belts.  The team then began airing their own Internet segment on WWE.COM known as the ‘Dirt Sheet’. The segment became increasingly popular and highlighted the team’s strength in mic skills.

After the break up of Miz and Morrison many believed Miz would sink whilst Morrison would swim. However, Miz has been determined to prove critics wrong. 

Miz went on to win the U.S title from Kofi Kingston and shortly after became a triple champion when he won the unified tag team champions with the Big Show.

It was then announced that the Miz would be the mentor of Daniel Bryan on the first series of NXT. This created controversy as fans felt it should be the other way round. This was the starting point to their rivalry.

The match could give the push that the Miz needs to set him up for the world heavyweight belt and push him into main event status.  This match could even question the Miz doubters out there, or maybe just anger fans more at his push.

Daniel Bryan started his career in WWE in 2010 as one of the contestants for the first series of WWE NXT. 

He was not successful in winning the competition but later went on to be a part of the Nexus stable on Raw after the series ended. However, due to him breaking the PG rating he was fired by WWE shortly after.

Daniel Bryan made his surprise return to WWE at the PPV Summerslam as part of the WWE team. Since then he has been feuding with The Miz and Alex Riley. Daniel Bryan went on to win the U.S title from the Miz at the WWE Night of Champions PPV.

This match could push Daniel Bryan even more in WWE. Daniel Bryan is a well-known and respected wrestler who has worked his way through the ranking in the independent scene for years before he signed with WWE. 

The triple threat match could give him the recognition he needs, and give him a chance to spotlight his wrestling ability.
