WWE Reportedly Open To Giving Sting a Spot in the Hall of Fame

The Doctor Chris MuellerSep 30, 2010

Several websites have reported that sources within WWE are open to giving Sting a spot in the Hall of Fame after he retired from TNA.

Despite having never worked for the company Sting is said to have an amicable relationship with Vince McMahon built on the respect they each have for each others contributions to the sport.

Sting has not responded as to whether he would be open to accepting the award, but why would he refuse?

Sting was a mainstay in WCW from the '80s all the way until the day the company was bought by WWE and shut down.

Sting may even be the most famous wrestler in the world to never wrestle for the WWE.  For years fans have wanted to see Sting have matches with guys who were WWE only, and they never happened.

Guys like The Rock, Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker were all people who were dream opponents for Sting fans, but unfortunately those matches are never going to happen.

At least we could get a WWE sanctioned Sting DVD set as one is long overdue. Sting had some great matches while in WCW and highlighting those would be in WWE's best interests.

A Sting DVD was planned a few years back before Steve Borden made his way back to TNA.  Now that Sting is making fewer and fewer appearances for TNA a WWE HOF spot is not that unlikely.

As a fan of Sting's, I would love to see him get the recognition he has earned by being inducted.

Who would induct Sting into the HOF? Ric Flair would have been an obvious choice but since he is now under TNA's banner it would be unlikely.

Arn Anderson and Sting have a long relationship but I don't see that working either. In fact there is only one person I think would be appropriate to induct Sting into the HOF and that is Jim Ross.

It may seem like a strange choice to some, but JR and Sting have known each other for years and JR even called many of Sting's matches while working for the WCW promotion.

Either way, I would love to see Sting in the Hall of Fame, how about you?
