Champions League - CSK bring the trophy to home country

He was helped in the final by the performances of his bowlers first and followed up by the batsmen. Ashwin, the Man of the Tournament, was brought into the attack not only to stop the scoring but also take wickets. That is what he did immediately, taking out Jacobs who was threatening to tear apart the bowling attack. Once that happened, the other bowlers managed to restrict the scoring to an easy one to chase, especially on a track that did not hold any demons to the batsmen. The fielders supported the bowlers and it was a spectacular effort by the team lead astutely by the captain.

 The chase was made easier by the opening pair of Vijay (the Golden Bat of the tournament) and Mike Hussey. Though Vijay and Raina fell, MSD and Mr. Cricket saw CSK through. The comfort with which the CSK team won was due to the effectiveness of the squad which must have felt the emotions of playing their last match before a re-auction. 

But, MSD was not complaining. He completed his set of trophies and now comes back to meet the Australians at home in another format. Will he continue the No.1 ranking there as well? That is another battle in another country - let us celebrate the CLT20 win now.
