EPL: Manchester City's Bid For Santa Cruz Gets Turned Down

Salaar Shamsi@SalaarizationSenior Writer IAugust 14, 2008

Blackburn have rejected a bid for Roque Santa Cruz from Manchester City.

Manchester City are currently being managed by Mark Hughes, the ex-Rovers manager, who is hoping to further strengthen his squad after landing Jo and Tal Ben Haim this summer.

Blackburn, however, are not keen on letting go of the striker because of already having sold David Bentley earlier this summer to Spurs.

The fee City have offered is believed to be around the £12 million mark, over £8 million more than Blackburn paid for his services when they signed him from Bayern Munich last summer.

Santa Cruz spent eight years at the German club before moving to Ewood Park.
