Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Advice: Who to Pick Up in Week 4

Bruno Boys Fantasy FootballSep 26, 2010

Wondering who you should consider picking up on your fantasy football waiver wire in Week 4?  Check out our Bruno Boys’ recommended “Fantasy Football Waiver Wire - Pick Them Ups” to find out.

Mark Sanchez (New York Jets)

Sanchez played much better in Week 2, as he threw three touchdowns against the New England Patriots after a dismal Week 1 performance. He was even better in Week 3. Leading the Jets to a comeback victory over the Miami Dolphins, Sanchez completed 15-of-28 passes for 256 yards and three more touchdown strikes. His 22 fantasy point outing marks back-to-back weeks that Sanchez has eclipsed 20 fantasy points. What we like even more about the second-year signal caller is his progression as a decision maker. In 2009, Sanchez threw 20 interceptions and through three games this year he has thrown none. In comparison, Sanchez has six touchdowns. There is no doubt about it; Sanchez is riding a high and should be owned in all formats. His upcoming schedule (@ Buffalo, Minnesota, @ Denver) makes him a worthy fantasy backup quarterback and when the matchup is right you shouldn’t hesitate using the new and improved Sanchez.  Sanchez is currently available in 59 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis (New England Patriots)

Green-Ellis had 16 carries for 98 yards and a touchdown in Week 3 against the Buffalo Bills, and with Fred Taylor (toe) injured and Kevin Faulk (torn ACL) already on Injured Reserve he is looking like the last man standing in the Patriots’ backfield at this point. Week 4 brings a tougher matchup against the Miami Dolphins; however, Green-Ellis should get the majority of the carries for New England and is decent bet to score a touchdown as well.  He is likely to be available in the majority of leagues and fantasy football owners who are in  a pinch at running back may have to act quickly to bring him aboard this week.
