Frank Lampard Becomes Highest Paid in History
Frank Lampard has committed his future to Chelsea after signing a new five year deal worth £33million.
The deal, which will see his wages rise to peak at £140,000 three years into his contract, will ensure Lampard becomes the highest paid 30 year-old in the history of English football.
The current top earner at Chelsea is John Terry, whose £135,000 a week deal puts him ahead of such players like Andriy Shevchenko, Michael Ballack, Didier Drogba, and at the moment Frank Lampard.
The signing of a new contract will surely put an end to all the intense speculation surrounding Lampard's future at Chelsea.
The player has, for the last year, been heavily linked with a move to Serie A giants Inter Milan, mainly because of his love for Italy and his refusal at the time to sign a new contract.
But with the Lampard saga now over, and the Ronaldo saga postponed for a year, surely it is the football that will now resume centre stage.
