Liverpool Wants To Sign Giovanni Dos Santos In Spite Of Financial Troubles

Giovanni Dos Santos is the center of attention for Liverpool as the club wants him on their team. The response of the Tottenham Hotspurs (also known as the Spurs), to which Dos Santos is currently playing, have said "No."

Spurs Coach Harry Redknapp has told Liverpool and other teams that Dos Santos should be practicing and playing more before going to other teams.

The response of Liverpool is that they are willing to take advantage of the open period in which players may be traded in December or January in order to sign Dos Santos.

Liverpool Director Roy Hodgson declared in an interview with English Magazine Caughtoffside that he is willing to pay more than $28 Million for Giovanni Dos Santos and Roman Pavlyuchenko.

Liverpool is facing a possible takeover by its main creditor Royal Bank of Scotland with the hope that the club can avoid administration (bankruptcy) accompanied by point deductions in the Premier League.

The team is also in 16th place in the Premier League with 5 points.

The principal objective for Liverpool in acquiring Dos Santos is to refurbish the team into one that could be in the same position as Chelsea and Manchester United. The other possibility is for Dos Santos to help Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.

Giovanni Dos Santos is one of the latest players from Mexico who has been playing in the European Leagues along with Chicharito Hernandez who is playing for Manchester United as well as others.

While Giovanni Dos Santos has potential with the Spurs, it would be great opportunity if he is able to play for Liverpool. He could do more for Liverpool with his tactics of play than with the Spurs. He could also acquire more experience.

The other side of the coin is that Liverpool is betting its future on the performance of Giovanni Dos Santos. If Dos Santos does not deliver, it will not help Liverpool resolve its financial situation.
