Premier League Predictions Game Week 6
It's that time of the week again for me to attempt to predict the outcome of this weekend's Premier league games. I haven't being setting the world on fire so far with my predictions but I'm hoping to improve this week. Last week I got two perfect results, two correct outcomes and six wrong outcomes. It meant that I dropped down to eighth place in my prediction league but hopefully I'll reverse my downward trend this week. Here's a look at the league table.

This is the early game on Saturday and it's a really big test for City. If they are to have any hope of genuinely challenging for the league title they will have to show how good they are against the current champions. If they lose there will be a lot of pressure on Mancini as they will be 10 points off the pace after six games.
Chelsea have had it relatively easy up to now in the league and we will see exactly how good they are in this game. If they come out with all guns blazing and blow City away then the hype might be right but they have a few injury problems and I think their defence isn't what it used to be. I expect a pretty tight game with both sides knowing they have a lot to lose and therefore I predict a draw.
Prediction: 1-1
Arsenal v West Brom
Arsenal played very well against the Spuds on Tuesday night in the Carling Cup and although they will make several changes for this game I expect them to play their usual free flowing attacking football with Wilshere, Nasri and Chamakh being the players who could make a real difference.
West Brom have started very well and I think they look a lot better than when they were in the Premier league two seasons ago. Their defence is better(except for the 6-0 loss to Chelsea) and they seem to have found their scoring boots too which is something that they will desperately need to stay up. I don't think they will come to the Emirates just to defend as they like to try to play good football themselves. I still can't see them having enough to match Arsenal and as the match progresses I expect Arsenal to push home their advantage and win.
Prediction: 3-1
Birmingham v Wigan
Birmingham's fans won't have been happy with their defeat against West Brom last week and the players will be looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season. With that in mind they will be delighted to welcome the team with the worst defence in the league to their ground.
Wigan are very hard to figure out but aside from their great win at the Spuds they have only one other point to their names and I think they are one of the favourites for relegation at this stage. They give away too many easy goals and if they can't tighten up at the back then they will be relegated. Their biggest hope is that Birmingham underestimate them just like the Spuds did as they are capable of playing good football on their day. I think that Birmingham will have too much for them in this game though and will run out as winners.
Prediction: 3-1
Blackpool v Blackburn
Blackpool are a very hard team to predict as they have started so well in the first season in the Premier league. They may have been well beaten by both Arsenal and Chelsea but their wins at Wigan and Newcastle showed how well they can play and that they are not an opponent to be treated lightly. This is only their second home game so far and their fans will be looking for a home win after drawing with Fulham in the other game.
Blackburn are not the best travelers but they will see this as a game where they can hope to secure all three points. I'm sure Blackpool will play all the football and Blackburn will continue their policy of keeping the ball off the ground at every opportunity. That tactic might just work against Blackpool and I think Blackburn will get a rare away win.
Prediction:1-2.
Fulham v Everton
Fulham are still unbeaten this season in the league but they have only one win to their names and four draws. With Zamora already injured the last thing they wanted was to play Soke RFC in the Carling Cup but after playing them they are now without Dembele too as Stoke saw to it that he left the pitch on a stretcher.
Everton have had a dreadful start to the season and only West Ham are keeping them off the bottom of the table. They have plenty of very good players but I still don't think they have a system to suit those players and they will need to start picking up points soon or their season will be over. I think we're in for a low scoring game with a draw as the likely outcome.
Prediction: 1-1
Liverpool v Sunderland
Liverpool have had a dreadful start to their season and their fans keep telling me that they had a hard list of opening fixtures and now that it's out of the way they will get better. I'm not so sure as I think their new signings are average at best and Gerrard is playing in a position that he wants to play in but isn't his best position.
Sunderland will be delighted with their performance against Arsenal last week and their 95th minute equaliser was a just reward for their efforts. They will know that the longer they keep Liverpool scoreless the more the Liverpool players and fans will doubt their own ability. I think they have a good chance to emerge from this game with a point and I'm going for a draw.
Prediction:1-1
West Ham v Tottenham
West Ham are rooted to the bottom of the table but at least they managed to get their first point of the season last week with a draw at Stoke. They will need to show plenty of fighting spirit if they are to get themselves out of trouble and Scott Parker seems to be the man to give them that fight.
The Spuds managed a late come from behind victory over Wolves last week to get their league campaign back on track. However they were then soundly thrashed by Arsenal on Tuesday night in the Carling Cup. With the Champions league game at home to Twente on Wednesday night they will need a good result to keep in the chase to qualify for the same competition next season. I think it will be a tight game and West Ham might just double their points total for the season.
Prediction: 1-1
Bolton v Man Utd
At midday on Sunday Bolton take on a "Manure" team that have blown leads in their last two away games with some poor defending late on. Bolton are not an easy team to beat and they will set themselves up to be difficult to break down and hope for a goal on the break or from a set piece even though they are at home.
"Manure" will be looking to keep up the pressure on Chelsea and Arsenal at the top and with Berbatov in such good form they will be expecting a lot from him. I think they will score a few goals again but I also think Bolton will score and they have had a few good results at home to "Manure" in recent years.I think "Manure" will get their first away win but only just.
Prediction:2-3.
Wolves v Aston Villa
Wolves came very close to getting a good result at the Spuds last week but they lost at very late on. They have been fairly impressive so far this season and they will be well up for this local derby. Wolves have put the boot in a bit this season and I think we can expect more of the same in this game.
Villa's away form has been very poor so far and they won't find it easy in this game. They are finding it hard to live up to their efforts of the previous two seasons and I think Wolves will throw everything they have at them in this game and get the win that their fans will crave.
Newcastle v Stoke
Newcastle had a great win at Everton last week and then they beat Chelsea away from home in the Carling Cup on Wednesday night as well. They try to play football and that's never an easy thing to do against Stoke RFC.
Stoke are up to their old tricks again of kicking anything that moves and then kicking it again until it stops moving but it's OK for them to do it as they're not those type of lads. I'm sure a few Newcastle players will have bruises to show off after the game but I hope they can get a win and keep Stoke RFC at the wrong end of the table.
Prediction: 2-1
Well that's my predictions for this week and as I say hopefully I can improve on last week's efforts and get back on track in my prediction league. Feel free to tell me where you think I am going wrong and I will be back next week with week seven's predictions.
