Moving Today's Market

The market is constantly moving throughout the day, and there are always a few games that receive more action than others. The Reds/Pirates game has no affect on the playoff picture, but it is getting attention in the betting world. The line opened with Pittsburgh at -137, and has since climbed to -160. Pinnacle lines show there was some buy back late this morning when it moved to -156, climbed to -160, and settled back to -157. Over 75 percent of the money is on Paul Maholm (7-7, 3.76 ERA) against the Reds and Josh Fogg (2-4, 7.98 ERA). Pirates first baseman Adam LaRoche is expected to come off the disabled list for tonight's game. Another game getting attention is Luke Hochevar (6-10, 5.54 ERA) and the Royals against the White Sox and Mark Buehrle (9-10, 3.94 ERA). Pinnacle opened with the White Sox at -191 and has moved to -185, despite 87 percent of the money line bets on the White Sox. Pinnacle is one of a handful of sportsbooks monitored by Sports Insights that has shown significant movement on this game. Other books have maintained the opening line. Hochevar is seeking his first win since July 11; he is 0-3 with a 7.48 ERA in his last four starts.
