On Sunday, September 26th Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, MO will host NFL betting action when the St. Louis Rams play host to the Washington Redskins. 2009 saw the two teams square off in Washington with The Redskins tallied a 9-7 win as 10-point favorites in last year’s meeting. Last week the Rams lost a close game in Oakland 16-14 as 4-point dogs, while the Redskins lost, but pushed a close game 30-27 against Houston.

Washington’s 7th ranked passing attack had an outburst in Week 2 led by Donovan McNabb throwing for 426 yards and one TD. The ground game was awful gaining just 18 yards but Clinton Portis found the end zone twice. They attained 21 first downs, but only converted 2-of-10 third down tries. The Skins 31st ranked passing defense had an horrendous game giving up nearly 500 yards through the air, but held strong on the ground limiting the Texans to just 58 yards. They sacked QB Schaub five times and picked him off once.

The Rams are looking for their first win of the season, but don’t look for it to happen this week when their 24th ranked offense goes up against the 8th ranked rushing defense which forces QB Sam Bradford with the task of having to beat them through the air. Bradford threw for 167 yards and a TD/INT ratio of 2/1 last week. The 25th rushing offense showed why they are just that with only 75 yards on the ground. They converted 16 first downs and only 20 percent of their third down attempts. The defense recorded two sacks and two INT’s but gave up over 400 yards of total offense with 173 coming on the ground.

In their L/4 road games, the Redskins are 3-0-1 ATS and stand 5-1-1 in their L/7 games following a SU loss. That said; they’ve crushed their betting backers covering just three of their L/11 times they went off the board as a favorite. The Rams are a putrid 9-21 ATS in their L/30 home games and 14-20 the L/34 times they were dogged.
