Freddie Roach Rips Floyd Mayweather, Wants Fight with Manny Pacquiao
By Troy Sparks
There are lots of people taking pot shots at Floyd Mayweather these days. Add Manny Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, to the list.
Recently, on Datruthboxing.com, he said that Mayweather is too busy beating up girls. I think that's a cheap shot.
I wouldn't expect a comment like that coming from Roach.
Or, I could chalk the comment up to his reaction to medication he takes for Parkinson's Disease.
On the video, I saw how fast, furious and focused Pacquiao was. The hand speed was still there. If I'm Mayweather, I don't want to anger Mr. Pacquiao right now. All that frustration will be unleashed on "Money."
Is it probably what Mayweather is seeing for himself about Pacquiao? Could it be why he's delaying his decision to make a deal?
The legal stuff will take care of itself after Mayweather buys his way out of a prison sentence. When you're rich and famous, the money sometimes buys you justice to avoid time in the slammer.
Roach said that it would be a shame if the fight doesn't take place. I agree with Roach on Mayweather's intentions to put off a decision. He thinks Mayweather is wishy washy because he can't make up his mind. But, if Mayweather agrees to fight Pacquiao, then the Pac-Man's camp must come up with a new game plan against Mayweather.
It doesn't make sense to ask Oscar De La Hoya about game-planning for Mayweather or Pacquiao. He lost to both fighters.
Roach admits that Mayweather is one of the most complicated boxers to prepare for, so whatever kind of premature plan they had for the undefeated boxer, it must go out the window. We have to see if the Pacquiao vs.Antonio Margarito fight motivates Mayweather to speed up his decision making and declare himself ready to challenge Pacquiao.
Maybe the decision will come after the Pacquiao-Margarito fight, which, according to Roach, won't go the distance.
