my log about the olympic ceremony star mined couldn't post in chinese website

I have to say sorry first, because the following article has nothing to do with sports. It is just a log that I couldn’t post on my blog because of the damn intenet censorship in china.

First I have to emphasize that i love my country and i always consider our government has done a great job in helping our people to lead a better life. So many times, whenever the foreign medias accuse Chinese government of human right problems ,i always stand in our government's side and try my best to convince others(includes some foreign friends) that we Chinese people are contented to our human rights and we can live freely in our country.

But everything's changed....

First of all love my country .And I can absolutely assure you guys that the of the Chinese are really nice The Chinese people did not ask the organizers to do this unethical thing to the poor girl and to fool all the people. Those people including some high ranking official are the ones to be blamed. They disgrace our whole nation. How can they be so cruel to treat a 7-year-old like this? Can’t they realize this will affect her whole life? Maybe left a shadow to all the other children that if you are not pretty enough somebody else can steal your achievements freely....I just feel so angry about the way the little girl have been treated. They just destroyed the whole ceremony which we should be proud of.

Anyway, it has happened think the only thing we can do is to learn from it. Nobody in the whole world should do something like this for some theoretical but unproven” people’s interest"

They should apologize to the girl and the people who have watched the ceremony.

those people disgrace our whole nation.

Olympic child singing star 'fake'

The little girl who starred at the Olympic opening ceremony was miming and only put on stage because the real singer was not considered attractive enough, the show's musical director has revealed.

Pigtailed Lin  was selected to appear because of her cute appearance and did not sing a note, Chen Cong, the general music designer of the ceremony, said in an interview with a state broadcaster yesterday.

Photographs of Lin in a bright red party dress were published in newspapers and websites all over the world and the official China Daily hailed her as a rising star yesterday.

But Chen said the girl whose voice was actually heard by the 91,000 capacity crowd at the Olympic stadium during the spectacular ceremony was in fact seven-year-old Yang Peiyi, who has a chubby face and uneven teeth.

"The reason why little Yang was not chosen to appear was because we wanted to project the right image, we were thinking about what was best for the nation," Chen said in an interview that appeared briefly on the news website Sina.com before it was apparently wiped from the internet in China.

Lin was seen to perform the patriotic song "Ode to the Motherland" as China's national flag was carried into the stadium, a key moment in the three hour ceremony.

"The reason was for the national interest. The child on camera should be flawless in image, internal feelings, and expression," said Chen, a renowned contemporary composer and French citizen.

"Lin Miaoke is excellent in those aspects. But in terms of voice, Yang Peiyi is perfect, each member of our team agreed," he said.

He said the final decision to stage the event with Lin lip-synching to another girl's voice was taken after a senior member of China's ruling Communist Party politburo attended a rehearsal.

"He told us there was a problem that we needed to fix it, so we did," he said, without disclosing further details of the order.

The Beijing Olympic organising committee confirmed the episode with spokesman Sun Weide saying the decision was taken in the interests of providing the best possible show.

"A number of girls were on the short list for the show and Lin was the best actress while Yang had the best voice," he said. "So at the end of the day they decided to have both."

The ceremony directed by China's Oscar-nominated filmmaker Zhang Yimou and featuring more than 15,000 performers won high praise in China and overseas for its breadth, scope and flawless execution.

However criticism began to build after it emerged that another part of the opening ceremony had been faked.

Supposedly live pictures of fireworks depicting footprints moving from central Beijing's Tiananmen Square to the Olympic stadium in the north of the capital were actually partly computer-generated or pre-recorded for TV, organisers have admitted.

Wang Wei, vice president of the organising committee, Tuesday insisted the fireworks had actually exploded on the night and that most of the television images used were genuine.

"However, because of the poor visibility of the night some previously recorded foots may have been used," he said.

Xiao Qiang, the director of the China Internet project at the University of California at Berkeley and former dissident, said the two incidents illustrated the political nature of the Games for China.

"I do not think the Chinese state realises how unethical this is, they don't understand what kind of values they are reflecting," he said.

Earlier this year Olympic organisers preoccupied with the right image for the country were criticised for insisting that only tall, slim, young and attractive women could serve as medal award ceremony hostesses.

this is terrible! China has officially lost my respect. I can't believe that girl put so much effort into singing when she didn't get any of the satisfaction. How cruel can one country be? Because of this incident China has lost all my amazement and awe I thought it had. It has become the biggest disappointment for the Olympics I have ever seen of. Chen you have lost my respect.

I am completely disgusted to learn about, I think if that little girl was the best singer and voice they found then she should have been up there on that stage, who cares what she looks like, some of the best and funniest actors

I personally don't think Amy Wine house or Jimmy Barnes are the most attractive people on the planet but they have the money and fame regardless of how they look. At the end of the day peoples tastes only matter in sales and marketing. What is important here is this little girls mental health that could possibly be affected by a shallow shallow shallow ideal. What a shame as I would have loved to have seen her in the pretty red dress. Kids are not perfect and they are our future. So what if she is chubby and has crooked teeth. China and the other countries that push the perfect ideal should be held accountable when this young lady has to seek medical help in the future for a multitude of disorders she could develop as a result. I suspect though she will be left to rot after she has been used to make money for others.

The Olympics are supposed to celebrate humanity in its entire form. Rich and Poor, Black and White, Big and Small. Talent and Spirit is what should be Celebrated. Haven't these people noticed that all are equal at the Olympics? IOC you have a lot to answer for. You have allowed the Olympic Idealism become another "Made in China" export.

I don't understand how people would think this issue is a little matter. The incident may be little but the fact is people who are less than perfect are discriminated against. If this is acceptable than what will happen to many others less fortunate aesthetically who have real potential? The world would be a much emptier place. Yang should of been on stage. She could of been the symbol for those who aren't perfect but dare to dream and dare to show their true beauty.

Next thing the Media will tell me is that China wants to breed a super race of blond haired, blue eyed Chinese. Poor kids. I don't think it will harm them too much because they'll learn when they grow up that much of the Western Media crawl through sewers to dig up their information.
