"Critic's Picks" From Last Week

As we approach the Huskers-Huskies kickoff, here are our "Critics Picks" for Saturday:

Tennessee +14 over Florida

The Volunteers gave Oregon fits in the first half of last week’s game as they led the then No. 7 Ducks 13-3 in the second quarter before surrendering 45 unanswered points in the second half.  The Volunteers are clearly less talented, but Florida has struggled in its first two games.  The Gators should not be getting 14 points on the road in a rivalry game.  A mistake by the odds makers.  Take Tennessee and the points.

Auburn/Clemson UNDER 55

While Clemson is averaging 46.5 points per game, its first two wins were over North Texas and Presbyterian.  Kyle Parker has looked sharp, but Clemson will struggle to find a replacement for CJ Spiller against a talented Tiger defense.  Auburn’s offense was stagnant in its 17 to 14 victory over Miss State last week.  These two offenses will not combine for 8 touchdowns against underrated defenses.

Oklahoma -16.5 over Air Force

The Falcons are getting some love after their 35 to 14 beat-down over BYU last week.  Air Force is the top offense in the country (Yards Per Game) and Oklahoma looked terrible against a similar Utah State offense two weeks ago, but did the odds makers watch the Sooners destroy Florida State last week?  Oklahoma is for real.  The Sooners roll at home.
