Braylon Edwards: New York Jets WR Busted For Drunk Driving Charge Tuesday
Braylon Edwards was arrested for drunk driving at 5:15 this morning with a blood alcohol content that was double the legal limit, according to the New York Post.
It was just another chapter in a book of incidents involving Edwards, and it's been a busy year for the Michigan product, dating back to his time in Cleveland.
Inside, you'll find a recap of what happened early this morning and other recent incidents involving Edwards.
Pulled Over

According to the Post, Edwards was pulled over on the West Side of Manhattan at 5:15 in the morning for having overly tinted windows on his Range Rover.
I still cannot figure out for the life of me why athletes do not just hire a driver when they go out at night.
Also, where is the responsibility and getting home early, knowing you have to prepare for a game on Sunday the next day?
Legally Drunk

The report went on to say that once Edwards was pulled over, the police officer smelled alcohol and then administered a breathalyzer test where Edwards blew 0.16, which is twice the legal limit in the state of New York.
I mean, it's always safe to be driving drunk in New York at 5:15 a.m. with overly tinted windows. It's not like that's dangerous or anything. The level of stupidity among professional athletes never ceases to astonish me.
Passenger on Board
3 of 7
Not only was Braylon Edwards stupid and reckless enough to drive drunk and put himself and other drivers in danger, but he had a passenger in the car with him when he was pulled over, according to the Post.
I know stupid people travel in groups, but someone in that group needs to have better sense than to get into the car with a drunk driver or let a friend drive while in such an obviously intoxicated state.
Not The Latest Legal Issue

When Edwards was in Cleveland, he just so happened to punch a friend of someone who just happened to be royalty in the town, LeBron James.
Edwards punched the friend outside of a nightclub, where good things normally happen late at night.
The wideout eventually settled the case by pleading no contest to aggravated assault. He recieved a 180-day jail sentence, was fined $1,000 and was placed on probation.
It'll be interesting to see if this violates his probation.
Called Out By a Great

After last week's embarrassing loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Joe Namath was not pleased with the performance, and he called out Edwards in particular.
Namath went to the Internet and on his website said that Edwards can't catch the ball, or rarely does, and drops as many passes as he catches.
Drops have always been a criticism of Edwards, but the attack seemed to come out of nowhere.
Edwards Responds

Edwards eventually responded to Namath's comments, telling the media "that's his mouth, his words. I really don't think Mr. Namath knows me. I'm sure he's never followed me. He's a Jet guy, and I was in Cleveland for five years, and I had one bad season.
"I'm not going to get into a back-and-forth with Mr. Namath," Edwards said to the media. "Too much respect. All I can say is, I don't think he really knows me. Tell him next time he's here, stop by my locker, and he can tell me that."
Even with all the respect talk, that seemed like he was kind of calling Namath out. I'm kind of impressed, actually.
Bounce Back Game

This past Sunday against New England, Edwards caught five passes for 45 yards, pulling in a touchdown and a two-point conversion against the Patriots.
It was a good game for the wideout, and who knows the next time he'll see the field after Roger Goodell catches wind of this.
