QB Controversy Brewing in Philly
Michael Vick is back! Over the past few years, no sports figure has probably had a harder life than Michael Vick. Fice years ago this guy was one of the best up and coming players in all of sports. His jersey was the number 1 seller, he was on teh cover of Madden, he had a plethora of endorsements and was the face of a damn good Atlanta Falcons team. All of that went down the drain with his stupid dog fighting habits and everything that he had worked up for until that time- gone. After spending over a year in federal prison, Michael Vick was lucky enough to still have the opportunity to play in the NFL. The Eagles offered him a spot to be the third string quarterback and play in the wildcat formation. I am sure yt was definitely a humbling experience for Vick, but he took the job without any questions and was prepared to fight day in and out. In his first season back, Vick didn’t make much of an impact and rarely saw much playing time. He was often relegated to work about 2-3 sanps every game in the wildcat formation. The guy did not complain- he took each game seriously and prepared to do anything when his number was called. Donovan McNabb later got traded and Vick immediately became the number two option. Philly never really commented about his role and many people thought that he would continue his role from the previous year. Kevin Kolb has a horrible game in the Philly opener and was forced out of the game with concussions. Vick’s fortunes might have taken a turn for the good with that hit. Though Philly was getting blown out, Vick was able to inject some passion and excitement in that game.
There was speculation about a QB controversy for week 2, but Kevin Kolb was ruled out for their game against the Lions. The time was finally here- Vick’s first start in 4 years. When opportunity knocked, Vick took full advantage of it. He was able to play like his old days with quick and long passes that lead to touchdowns. Though the Lions almost came back to win the game, Vick’s numbers were truly amazing for a guy who had not started for so long. His final stat line was 284 yards, 2 TDs and 0 INTs.

Granted it was against the lions, but Vick definitely proved that he can be a starting QB in this league. He was sharp as ever and now the Eagles are in a tough position to see who is the best fit for not only week three, but the rest of the season. Only time will tell..
This is just an Opinion, so Please Pardon My Bias..
