Does Vick Keep up the great play in Week 2?

After Kolb was injured in Week 1 against the Packers, Vick took over and had an amazing game. He finished the game with:

Passing: 16/24 with 175 yards and 1 touchdown. A passer rating of 101.9

Rushing: 11 carries for 103 yards. The longest being 31. An average of 9.4

So overall he had a great game. Now this week it was announced that Vick would start this week against the Lions because Kolb is still hurt from Clay Mathews huge hit. The main question with most people is if Vick could show the NFL that his Week 1 performance was not just a lucky day and that he could become the main starter of the Eagles.

This week Vick started off really good. He had a 4 play, 80 yard drive that lasted 2:29 and ended with a 45 yard pass from Mike Vick to DeSean Jackson. Vick’s second touchdown was a 9 yard pass to Jeremy Maclin. Those were to only touchdowns that Vick had for the day. But he finished the day with AMAZING numbers:

Passing: 21/34 for 284 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Rushing: 7 carries for 37 yards. The longest being 12 yards. He had no rushing touchdowns.

That should settle the fact that his great Week 1 performance was not a fluke. Some people were saying Vick was a ‘one hit wonder’. Throughout the day Mike showed that he could find open wide outs and passed to them accurately.  He didn’t show his rushing skills as much as he did Week 1 but it could be beneficial because some were still skeptic of his passing consistency.

One problem Vick did have this week is that he fumbled the ball twice. He recovered one of them but the other was picked up by the Lions. Vick has been known to fumble more than your average QB because he runs a lot. If he keeps up the great passing and cuts down on the fumbling Vick could give Kolb a scare and take away the starting position when Kolb gets back.

The finals score of the game was 35 to 32, Eagles with the Win.

I think that Vick will take the starting spot from Kolb.
