Bleacher Report Pro Football Challenge: Top Three Picks Of Week 2

Josh LavalleeSep 18, 2010

Each week of the season I will be publishing a slide show style article of the top 3 players that everyone should have in Bleacher Report's own Fantasy Pro Football Challenge.

I will be choosing 3 of the 5 positions available (QB, WR, RB, TE and Team).

The top 3 players will each be explained why I think you should have them in your line up this week, and feel free to comment with any disagreements that you might have with any of the picks! Good luck this week!

QB: Aaron Rodgers

My first pick this week is going to be at quarterback, and, I would have loved to save Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers for later weeks, but this Sundays match up against the Buffalo Bills seems too good to pass up.

Coming off a mediocre performance against the Philadelphia Eagles, I predict Rodgers to have a huge game at home tomorrow, especially being the first game with the absence of their go-to running back Ryan Grant.

Look for the Packers to go to the air early and often on Sunday and take advantage of a weak Bills secondary.

RB: Adrian Peterson

My second pick this week is going to be a RB in All Day, Adrian Peterson, I know I know, another player that I would have wanted to keep until later in the season, however, with Adrian asking for more carries earlier this week, I expect AD's wishes will be granted by Vikings head coach Brad Childress.

Another reason I expect Peterson to have a huge game is the fact that Minnesota's receiving corps is still in flux, I predict that the Vikings will run the ball tons early on in the game to open up the passing attack to hopefully get the timing and chemistry going between Favre and his receivers.

However, if going to the air reaps the same as it did last week, the Vikings will be back to ground and pound with No. 28.

Team: New Orleans Saints

The last of my picks will be from the team category, and I will be taking the Saints this week against the San Fransisco 49ers.

The Saints didn't look like the same team offensively from last year in their first game against the Vikings, they didn't move the ball well through the air against Minnesota.

However, the proved that their ground game is up to form, I expect the Saints to come out throwing against the 49ers, and Brees is going to connect often with his receivers.

I see Brees putting up 3+ TD's through, and 315+ yards this Monday on the road in San Francisco.

The Saints defense however looked pretty good against the Vikings in week one, but not great.

I believe the Saints defense will rack up 2+ takeaways, and end the game with 4+ sacks against the 49ers.
