Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
It’s been all fun and games for the Huskers to this point of the season as they enter this crucial spot 2-0 SU after pasting a pair of patsies to open up their 2010-11 campaign. By racking up an average of 43.5 PPG against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and Idaho Vandals, the offense ranks third in the country in points scored.
That said; they failed to cover both closing pointspreads and the stats accumulated were earned against much lesser competition than they’ll face this afternoon.
Taylor Martinez has been all the raved in Lincoln as the frosh field general looks to be the solid QB Big Red wishes it sported a year ago. The kid can flat out fly evidenced by his 284 yards rushing on 13.5 YPC with five TDs.
Still, the backbone of head coach Bo Pelini’s outfit comes in the way of the Blackshirt defense that comes into this contest allowing just 13.5 PPG. It’s already dropped opposing QBs eight times in two games and has forced eight turnovers.
On the flipside, the Washington O-Line has allowed team captain quarterback Jake locker to only get sacked once, and the offense has turned the ball over a grand total of one time. If Nebraska’s stop unit continues to excel in both of those departments in this spot, Jared Crick and company might be even better than last year’s unit that allowed an average of just 272 yards of total defense and 10.4 PPG.
U-Dub got off to a slow bet on football start in their season opener at BYU letting the game get away from them in the second half, but they bounced back nicely and covered a hefty 13.5-points in a 41-20 home win and cover over the Syracuse Orange last week.
In its own house, Head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff has already played LSU close, beaten USC, Arizona, and Cal to make Husky Stadium once again a place where opponents just can’t waltz into and win.
NCAA Football Insider Tip: The Huskers have played to the ‘under’ in 12 of their L/17 overall, and played to the low side of the number 14 of the L/23 times they partook in a game with the spread in the +3 to -3 range.
Nebraska allowed only one of its opponents to score 20 points in its five road games last season, and I’m expecting its defense to set the tone in this one from the opening kick.
It should take some time for Martinez to get his feet wet in this spot before finally getting used to the chaotic atmosphere in Seattle. He by no means will go off the way he’s done to date away from Lincoln. If he does, my hat goes off to him.
