Fantasy Report: Key Waiver Pick-Ups For Week 2 of The NFL Season
Just like every single week of the NFL season, week one of the 2010 season brought us many surprises and many busts in the fantasy world.Young players such as Shonn Green, Michael Crabtree, and Ryan Matthews did not live up to their high expectations, and in many circumstances fantasy owners may be looking for some voids to fill after viewing all the performances this past weekend. But who are the free agents you NEED on your team? Not the one hit wonders who had their yearly shining moment, but the guys who will continually produce for you throughout the season? Well, after watching week one unfold I can see there are plenty of those guys waiting to be claimed.
The first guy on my list is of course Brandon Jackson of the Green Bay Packers. Jackson now takes over as the number one running back in Green Bay after Ryan Grant suffered a torn ligament in his ankle against the Eagles. Unlike most of the guys left on waivers, Jackson will be getting just about every carry. John Kuhn could be there to take a few goal line carries away, but Jackson will get his share of touchdowns and certainly a good amount of yards. Not to mention that he has a pretty favorable match up against Buffalo this weekend.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The next guy that is a must grab is wide receiver Austin Collie of the Indianapolis Colts. Collie came up big time this past weekend with 163 yards on 11 receptions and a touchdown. Collie showed great chemistry with Peyton Manning, and their on field relationship seems to be turning into something similar to that of Tom Brady and Wes Welker. Collie is transforming himself into one of the best slot receivers in the game, and he will only continue to get better. He is a great pick up, especially in keeper leagues.
This next guy is someone no one expected to even be relevant in the 2010 season. That man is Peyton Hillis of the Cleveland Browns. This past summer the only guy any one thought was a relevant contender for carries with Jerome Harrison was Montario Hardesty. Once Hardesty went down and was said to be out for the season, Harrison looked like the legitimate number one back. But it seems like Eric Mangini just couldn't resist Hillis' ground and pound style of play. In week one, Hillis had nine carries for 41 yards and a touchdown. The numbers weren't terrific, and he did fumble twice, but what it did show us was that Hillis would be splitting carries right down the middle with Harrison. I believe the numbers will improve, and I know that Hillis will be getting those sweet goal line carries.
My final pick of the week is wide receiver Legedu Naanee of the San Diego Chargers. Naanee is a guy who showed a lot of potential last season but never really broke out. The absence of Vincent Jackson in the line up this year gave him the opportunity to do just that. In week one, Naanee had five receptions for 110 yards including a 59 yard touchdown. He showed good chemistry with Phillip Rivers, and besides a few drops towards the end of the game he had a solid outing. Malcolm Floyd doesn't have the speed to be a possession receiver, so look for Naanee to get the bulk of receptions and quite a few scores as the season continues.
