TUF 12: Five Things We Learned From Last Night's Episode

Will AndersonSep 16, 2010

The first episode of this season of The Ultimate Fighter had it's share of key moments. If you missed it, shame on you and set your DVR for the next few weeks.

Just because we like you, we've decided to give you the best five things that you can take away from last night's episode.

There was an interesting mix of characters, and from the looks of things this season looks to be the best one yet.

Marc Stevens Has Sledgehammers for Hands

1 of 7

In the opening fight of the season, Stevens made short work of TJ O'Brian by knocking him out with an overhand right 13 seconds in to Round One.

Make sure that you don't blink the next time this guy gets in the cage.

Clean Up Cage Side

Sako Chivitchian celebrates getting into the TUF house with a post fight puke.

We hope they keep a clean up crew ready when this guy fights.

Never Judge A Fighter By His Hair Color

3 of 7

In what was one of the most brutal beatings of the night, purple haired Jeffrey Lentz was already crossed off the list of at least one of the TUF coaches.

For 2 rounds Lentz beat the stuffing out of Daniel Head and then finished him off with a Rear Naked Choke thus proving the doubtful GSP wrong.

Sho'Nuff Wouldn't Stand A Chance Against This Guy

Alex "Bruce Leroy" Caceres has a keen fashion sense that even UFC President Dana White can get down with.

In a classic Bruce Lee yellow jumper, Caceres put on a clinic with his combination of striking and Jiu Jitsu. Plus how can not like a guy that do all that with a big, fat smile on his face?

Chief Running Cage

When Dane Sayers, who is of Native American ancestry, asked Herb Dean if it were ok not to touch gloves with his opponent, Ariel Sexton it seemed like an odd request.

However, just a few seconds later we found out why. Sayers, in true Braveheart fashion sprinted across the Octagon and attempted to deliver a flying knee to his opponent which missed.

This final battle of the episode was actually the best of the night as these two were going back and forth. Sayers who's striking wasn't really very crisp, fought on pure guts and determination.

By the second round, Sayers was spent, but hung in there to get a super tight standing Rear Naked Choke on Sexton to earn his spot in the house.

We need to make sure we keep an eye on this kid, cause he's something special.
