LeBron James: Where Could The Globetrotting Sports Fan Show Up Next?
Since he signed with the Miami Heat, NBA superstar LeBron James has become quite the world traveler. This weekend, he was spotted at the Ohio State-Miami game and in Washington, D.C. for the Redskins- Cowboys clash on Sunday night.
With all the money LeBron is making, he can go to any sporting event, anytime he sees fit to do so.
Where will he go next?
Here are the 10 most likely places to see King James over the next three weeks.
10. UFC 118
1 of 10
Does LeBron like the UFC? I have no idea. But there are several definite draws for the King in Indianapolis Sept. 25.
First of all, Indiana and Ohio hate one another, meaning people won't be as likely to hassle him.
Plus, there are huge, muscle-bound guys walking around. People aren't likely to start anything.
Finally, James should probably learn how to throw a punch, given how much he pissed off Cleveland. This is the place to learn to do it.
9. Dallas Cowboys at Houston Texans
2 of 10
LeBron has said before that his favorite football team is the Cowboys, and this Week 3 clash promises to be a good one.
As an added bonus, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo can give James some tips on how to choke in crucial moments or fall short in the playoffs.
8. Any Florida Marlins Game
3 of 10
They're based in Miami, so he won't have to go very far, and they're not terrible this year. Plus, if he tells the Marlins he's coming, they might draw more than 40 people to a game.
7. Bengals at Browns
4 of 10
Remember when there was talk of James joining the Browns as a tight end or wide receiver? Do you think they'd still want him?
Maybe they'd watch him struggle to adapt in one practice and Mike Holmgren would give him a huge contract, à la Jake Delhomme.
Either way, Bron-Bron likes the Brown Browns, and this will be a big game.
6. Miami Vs. Florida State
5 of 10
Sure, this game will be cutting it close to the season, but the 'Canes are kings of Miami. Expect James to show up to the game with a Seminoles hat on, though, just to start irritating Miami sports fans.
5. Florida at Tennessee
6 of 10
Don't be surprised to see James standing on the Gators' sideline at Neyland Stadium this weekend, wearing the orange and blue of Florida. Just about everyone in Florida who's not a Miami fan or a Seminoles fan is a Florida fan, so this would be a good way to appeal to the rest of the state. A win-win, right?
But the game is at Neyland Stadium, meaning that King James will be walking into the heart of Volunteer Nation wearing Gator colors.
Given previous PR gaffes, this one is pretty likely to happen.
4. Ohio State Vs. Ohio University
7 of 10
LeBron was at the Buckeyes' big game on Saturday and seems to have an affinity for the scarlet and gray. Besides, he seems to take pleasure in rooting against northern Ohio sports teams (save the Browns), so pulling against the Bobcats would be par for the course for him.
3. Michigan Vs. Michigan State
8 of 10
What better way to piss off the last of your fans in the state of Ohio than rooting for the Wolverines? It wouldn't surprise me to see James with the maize "M" on his hat, smiling away for pictures, only to wonder why everyone in Ohio hates him now.
2. Dolphins at Vikings
9 of 10
James could go a long way toward ingraining himself into Miami's sports culture by making an appearance at a Dolphins game this week.
While he's there, Vikings quarterback Brett Favre can give him tips on how to effectively torch every bridge to the state that worshipped you for your entire career.
1. Yankees at Rays
10 of 10
This presents an interesting challenge for James. On one hand, the Yankees are his favorite team, so much so that he was seen wearing a Yankees hat during the 2007 playoff series in Cleveland.
But the Rays are the team people in Florida care about, meaning rooting against them would be damaging to his reputation. In other words, don't be surprised if you see James sitting in Joe Girardi's dugout in full uniform.
