Spartans and FAU recap…. From a fans perspective..

Waited till Monday since I was less than pleased with the performance witnessed Saturday.. Really had to let the juices congeal a little before we put pen to paper…

Take a look at the Tweets during the game.. I think I actually captured the essence…

• FAU's first drive. 3 and Out !

• Spartan D has me a little concerned....
• TD for the Owls... Spartan D looks tired and not focused... am concerned....
• Huge sack on Cousins.. lost 12yrds.. WTF !!!
• Spartans finally get a sack on FAU... Pickelman comes up big
• Spartan D backs them up. Finally looking good. forces a punt
• OG Celek hurt... not good
• Passing TD Cousins to Cunningham. Now 16 -7
• Offsides on FAU.. “The entire D line”.. WTF ?  Never heard of this call before…
• 20 to 7 MSU... Conroy made another FG !!
• Nice sack Mr. Neely !
• 2 pass interference calls for the Spartans... You are killing me....
• Spartan D sluggish again....

• 30 to 17 Spartans win.. I'm not happy with the performance of the Spartans. If they  play like this next week they will get torched by Notre Dame

Can you feel the play by play emotions.. Has anyone ever heard of an Offsides call on the “Entire Line”..??  this was a new one..

The Spartans can run.. and have run on their two initial opponents…. And will do it all year...

Passing:  haven’t passed allot with what was supposed to be the Bog Ten’s best receiving corps..

Spartans Defense allowed >300 yrds total offense for each of their initial opponents.. They shouldn't have allowed this.. No wonder I have had the impression the D was sluggish….

Third down conversion.. Holy Crap.. One for Seven.. that’s only 14% success… PITIFUL..!!!

Three Pass Interference calls against the secondary…

Good news is the Rush and Offensive line is as good and better than I hoped for.  Baker  and Bell.. Wow.. but if it wasn’t for the front line, they couldn't have gotten the yards.. so Props to the “O” line !!

41 yrds, 44 yrds., and 50yrds.. we have a new kicker !  Conroy is his name, and its early, but he might fill Swenson's shoes...

The bad news so far is the “D”…

With Notre Dame at 8pm this Saturday..  the Spartan “D” needs to figure something out quickly…
