Champions League Preview: Man Utd-Rangers, Real Madrid-Ajax, Arsenal-Braga

An exciting list of UEFA Champions League matches is coming up in this opening week of the group stages.

Here are some predictions for the upcoming matches:

Man Utd vs Rangers - 14th September 2010, Old Trafford.

Manchester United will want to forget their shock draw to Everton on the weekend, when two goals in injury time from the Toffees sunk what looked like an easy enough win for United.

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Wayne Rooney will be playing for ManU in the match against Glasgow Rangers, after the England international striker was left out of the squad when they faced his old team due to the abuse that he was set to receive.

Bad weekend aside, there is a large gap in quality between these two sides. Also, Manchester United are near-unstoppable at home and so this should be a relatively comfortable victory for United.

Prediction: ManU to win by 2 goals.

Real Madrid vs Ajax - 15th September 2010, Bernebau.

Considering their investment output, Real Madrid have had a disappointing couple of seasons in both domestic and European competitions. But with new manager "Special One" Jose Mourinho now at the helm, it looks as if things will likely turn around for Madrid, and they are set to be one of the major contenders for both the La Liga and Champions League titles.

Ajax, too, have fallen in form as of the last couple of years. They will look to regain some glory and try to take at least a point against Real Madrid in Spain on Wednesday night.

However, Real Madrid have looked solid so far, and with the wealth of talent at their disposal, it's hard to see past a win for the Spanish giants.

Prediction: Real Madrid to win by a goal.

Arsenal vs Braga - 15th September, 2010, Emirates Stadium.

Arsene Wenger's men have started the 2010/11 season off extremely well, with the only points dropped being from an opening day draw at Anfield against Liverpool.

Sporting Braga is an impressive side, with plenty of attacking ability. They will look to frustrate Arsenal at the Emirates, and pull off an unlikely victory against the Gunners.

However, injury troubles aside, Arsenal possess an extremely strong outfit that should at least get to the latter stages of this season's Champions League.

A win here for the Gunners looks on the cards.

Prediction: Arsenal to win by two goals.
