NBA Point Guards: Is Chris Paul Still at The Top of The Point Guards?

Sachin AroraSep 13, 2010

Chris Paul is a great point guard, but that goes without saying.

After being injured for the majority of last season, many people have taken him out of talks of being the best point guard in the league.

Let's look at the best point guards in the league.

Rajon Rondo

Rondo established himself as a prominent point guard in the NBA after the playoffs last season. While he was considered to be the weakest link on the Celtics, now he's considered to be the strongest.

Rondo is quick, extremely athletic, and a terrific passer.

He can score the ball quite well, but his shooting is pretty horrific for a guard.

Score: 7.5/10

Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose is one of the better point guards in the league, and he finally has some help this year with the addition of Carlos Boozer.

He's a terrific scorer, but sometimes he tries too hard to do it all himself rather than pass the ball to create for others.

Rose is still young and has a bright future.

Score: 8/10

Steve Nash

Steve Nash has been one of the best point guards in the league for quite a while now.

There is no question that he's the best playmaker in the game, and his passing is always right on the money.

His shooting is also fantastic, and his only liability is is defense. Nash is probably the best offensive point guard in the league, and should remain at the top for a couple more years.

Score: 9/10

Deron Williams

Last year, Deron Williams was the best point guard in the league.

He's a terrific playmaker, a good shooter, and a pretty solid defender.

Deron can do it all, and last year, he stepped up for his team in the playoffs. He's arguably the best point guard in the league.

Score: 9/10

Chris Paul

And now we come to Paul.

Paul is nothing short of terrific. He's a great defender, can steal the basketball quite easily, and won't let anybody get by him without a fight.

Offensively, Paul can do it all. He's lighting quick and can get to the rim almost at will. He's also a terrific playmaker and a great shooter.

Paul can do it all, and there is no reason to think he's not the best point guard in the league.

Score: 9.5/10
