Arizona Cardinals: Musings About the Win and Week One in the NFL

Well week one is over and after watching the Arizona Cardinals among others here are some of the things I have to comment on.

What I liked about the Cardinals/Rams game.

• The play of Steve Breaston. Talk about a life saver. This guy saves two fumbles from scores and caught 7 passes for 132 yards.
• Adrian Wilson. Two Interceptions, one blocked field goal, one sack. Hands down winner of Defensive Player of the Week
• LaRod Stephens Howling. Quietly picked up 49 yards on 7 carries and ignited life in the Cardinals offense in the third quarter
• Sam Bradford's moxie. He played well and took his shots but still was a leader.
• Greg Toler. Great play from a guy who is going to be picked on all year.

What I didn't like about the Cardinals/Rams game

• Please put Brandon Keith on Craigslist. That was pitiful play against Chris Long
• Derek Anderson. The Cardinals won despite his play. The incompletions were exponentially bad. Max Hall please take first team reps this week.
• Tim Hightower. 2 fumbles - Scratch that. 2 horrendous fumbles. You gotta play better than that.
• The timing between Larry Fitzgerald and Derek Anderson. 15 passes thrown to him and 3 catches. 
• Max Komar. Three fumbles in your first game. This is the NFL, Max. Not Madden. You have to play better. 
• You are pretty fragile - Early Doucet

Other musings from Week One

• You now have a quarterback controversy in Philadelphia. Vick's going to look good against Detroit next week. He didn't look bad last night against the Packers.
• Tough loss for Detroit. I watched this game with a Detroit fan. It was like giving him a 100 bill and then switching it out for an IRS tax bill
• San Francisco will runaway with NFC West. Yeah how's that going?
• Kudos to Seattle. I am not sure who you are, but you looked good.
• Washington's defense will win many games playing like that.
• Please add Alex Barron to that Craigslist ad for Brandon Keith. You should put them up as a buy one get one free special. Horrible play fellas.
• Dallas needs a new head coach. Bill Cowher -- Are you listening?
• Welcome back Jake Delhomme. You were just hiding.
• Good to see Tampa Bay in first place with New Orleans for at least one week. Remember the Bucs beat the Saints last year. #justsayin
• C.J. Spiller --- where did you go? Mulligan
• Calvin Johnson -- Great catch in the end zone. 
• Oakland maybe you have magic JaMarcus Russell pixie dust you sprinkle on your quarterbacks.
• Batman and Robin ? More like the Jokers. Cincinnati has to wake up. This is the regular season now.
• Wes Welker is my hero.
• Way to go Houston. I think you will compete for the division title.
• Welcome to earth Peyton Manning. This year could be long.
• I can't tell if Tennessee's that good because it was Oakland. So, check in next week.
• Pittsburgh defense looks like it could be the best in the league.
• I really want to touch Troy Polamualu's hair.
