Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao: It's Getting Closer To Happening

All right, all right. I know what you're all thinking.

This guys is nuts. Are you paying attention? Look at Floyd's week!

Money is closer to going to jail than he is to fighting Manny.

I don't think so. I think everything is on track to the big fight happening next spring. And I plan on being there to see it.

Let's look at the last two weeks of action. 

First of all. Floyd's bizarre Internet screed. 

If you haven't seen it, I can't describe it to you. It's just too great.

Just Google "Floyd Mayweather" and "racist rant" and you'll get several links to his performance.

Floyd has been telling the world for years that he doesn't care what his naysayers have to say about him. The Internet meltdown proves just the opposite.

Floyd not only cares. He cares a lot, as Faith No More used to sing.

Manny's measured reaction was perfect. Pac-Man does more to get under Floyd's skin by not saying much than he does by responding. 

Floyd's strange "non-apology" apology the next day reiterates his concerns about how he is seen by the general public.

Then there was Floyd's arrest. Personally, I find this episode sad. But it does mean we're closer to a fight in the near future.

Floyd will not get any free passes this time. The Las Vegas police know that Money ordered his bodyguard to shoot into a crowd last year and they were PO'd that Floyd go away with it. 

That means they won't be cutting Floyd any breaks on this charge or the inevitable next incident.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. The Vegas lockup that is.

With legal troubles hanging over PBF's head, I believe he'll want to fight Pacquiao as soon as he can. 

Finally, there is the start of Pacquiao's training camp. He started training last week and Freddy Roach leaves for the Philippines this week to begin four weeks at Manny's brand new gym that Pacquiao just finished building.

The Pac-Man is serious about this fight and at least one more. The big one against Floyd.

With Manny ready to knock out Antonio Margarito and Floyd melting down in Vegas. We're about as close to this fight as we have ever been.
